Even the giants of industry are at risk of not living up to their claims. A strong brand guideline is not just a color palette; it establishes the core tenets of your business. What is established in the background can then become part of the story you tell your audience. A basic principle is having honest continuity between what you say and what you do. Without that, you are F***ED and smart consumers will find out. https://lnkd.in/gDSjS_e6

Did you know that some of the richest brands use the same suppliers are less known brands? 🧐In order words, the bags, shoes and other accessories you call fancy are made by the same suppliers and very same quality‼️. The only difference is the name brand attached to the product. So are you paying these high price tags 🏷️ for quality or just name recognition? 🤔 #dior #diorbag #luxury #luxurybags

IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT THE FOLLOWERS YOU... Have... It is more about the relationships you build by following others. Social Media as a tool is no longer an option, it needs to be fully integrated into your daily workflow. ✔️Meaningful Interactions: The LinkedIn algorithm favors meaningful engagement. Comments that are thoughtful and relevant to the post's content will not only enhance the reach of the original post but also improve your profile's visibility. Aim to add value through your comments, share insights, or ask questions to spark conversation. ✔️Algorithm Boost: The LinkedIn algorithm prioritizes posts with high engagement, meaning thoughtful comments can significantly boost the visibility of both your profile and the original post. ✔️Increased Reach: Comments that add value to a discussion can enhance the reach of the original post, exposing your profile to a broader audience and potential new connections. ✔️Enhanced Credibility: Providing insightful feedback or asking pertinent questions demonstrates expertise and thought leadership, enhancing your professional credibility. ✔️Building Relationships: Engaging meaningfully with others' content helps build relationships and networks, fostering a sense of community and mutual support within your industry. ✔️Profile Visibility: Regular, valuable interactions keep your profile active and visible in your connections’ feeds, increasing the chances of being noticed by potential clients or employers. DM me to discuss a holistic approach to bolstering your brand and growing your audience with qualified leads.

WHY HAS THE LEAD TIME OF... Event planning, become shorter and shorter, over the years? I have seen what Chat GPT has to say and it is generally around technological advancements, higher customer expectations, and ease of access to data. This makes a lot of sense to me. To that end, I would say the case is closed, right? Or, I could say, I am not quite convinced! I for one, tend to look introspectively as challenges arise. Although the tendency to look outwardly is an immediate temptation, why not look at what we are doing to shape a landscape that is seemingly and, in some cases, working against us? Just under the surface are a series of considerations, and I would like to share one with you today for a multitude of reasons, not least of which, to invigorate the dialogue around a shared pain point for event professionals. HELPING TO SHAPE THE SALES CYCLE If you are working months ahead, this can help mitigate the "last-minute gig" phenomenon. If, for whatever reason, you are "too busy" to be working ahead, ask yourself the hard questions. Are you busy and productive or are you just busy? What is going on there? Can you dig deeper and find out what the true parameters of your support systems are? If you can delineate cause and effect, it is hard to imagine any leader who would deny you, the ability to be more effective in your daily tasks. One such way is to determine how much cross pollination is going on during the course of your day and learn to compartmentalize. Be obsessed with the end-user experience, and let your clients know that you are in touch with them early so neither party is caught with their proverbial pants down. All it takes is a conversation. Do you use a CRM system? If not, start with one now. Set your tasks farther ahead and streamline your work flow around that timing. Finally, look at creative ways to incentivize your clients. Any agency or business owner is always open to the conversation around increasing their ROI. If you would like to take a deeper dive on this and other topics, feel free to DM me, I am always happy to have the conversation.

ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO ASK... The right questions ☀️Avoid “Why” Questions: They can make the other person defensive. ☀️Labeling: Identify and acknowledge emotions or feelings. ☀️Mirroring: Repeat the last few words the other person said to encourage elaboration. ☀️Tone of Voice: Use a calm and reassuring tone, and do use dynamics to take your audience on a story telling journey. ☀️Silence: Embrace pauses to encourage the other person to think and respond and practice active listening. ☀️Empathy: If this comes from your heart, use it. People feel, unlike the current intelligentsia, this, is not tactical; it is human. ☀️Summary: Summarize what’s been said to confirm understanding. Seek the next conversation.

SCALING A ROCK FACE AND SCALING A BUSINESS, both require the wisdom to stop and prepare for what lies ahead. Just as a climber reviews their positioning, a company must assess and plan during growth to ensure they are equipped for the next crucial step. Rest assured, inaction or complacency is not an option. Start as you mean to go on, because those blemishes can grow and fester if not managed when they are small enough. Here are some of the red flags, I have seen a multitude of companies and agencies manage as they experienced growth. ➲ Neglecting Core Values and Culture: Losing sight of the company's original mission and values. This can lead to a disconnect with employees and customers, potentially causing loyalty and morale issues. Internal attrition does not always work. ➲ Inadequate Staffing: Not hiring enough staff or hiring the wrong people to manage the increased workload. This can result in burnout for existing employees, lower productivity, and poor customer service. ➲ "We've Always Done It This Way": Clinging to old processes and methods that were effective at a smaller scale but are now outdated. This mindset stifles innovation and adaptability, preventing the company from evolving and meeting new demands. It can lead to inefficiencies and missed opportunities, as the organization becomes resistant to change. ➲ "We're Not There Yet": Deferring necessary changes and strategic planning with the excuse that the company isn't big enough or hasn't reached a certain milestone. This mentality can lead to unpreparedness when the company does reach those milestones, causing reactive rather than proactive decision-making. It often results in scrambling to fix problems that could have been anticipated and addressed earlier. DM me, if you would like to discuss how to mitigate these and other growing pains as you take your business to the next level.
