Thank you to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Julie Kozeracki for releasing the updated Advanced Nuclear Pathways to Commercial Liftoff Report, highlighting the potential tripling of U.S. nuclear capacity to approximately 300 GW by 2050. This growth will be fueled by new energy demands from AI, data centers, electrification, and manufacturing. ARC Clean Technology is honored to be featured as one of the Generation IV advanced small modular reactors (SMRs) in the report. #cleantech #climatetech #advancednuclear #SMRs #decarbonization
The update to the Nuclear Liftoff Report is HERE! https://lnkd.in/g89MmiW7 Since publishing the original report in March 2023, a lot has changed: * Unprecedented load growth: utilities are now issuing extreme IRP updates for AI, data centers, manufacturing, and electrification * Renewed interest in AP1000s: customers are now saying they value having a constructed design, a supply chain, and a workforce * Value of the existing fleet: in 2022, reactors were being shut down; in 2024, there are plans to extend operations to 80 years, uprate capacity, and restart closed reactors; most sites have room for more reactors (~60-95 GW worth) This update has everything! * Existing reactors! New reactors! * Big reactors! Small reactors! * LCOE! Why LCOE is deeply flawed! * Green charts! Slightly darker green charts! * Clean firm! Just so much clean firm! This is the product of an incredible collaboration across the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) between DOE Loan Programs Office, DOE Office of Technology Transitions, DOE Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, Office of Nuclear Energy, U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho National Laboratory, and Argonne National Laboratory Enormous THANK YOU to Chris Vlahoplus, Kenneth Erwin, Alan Propp, Sonali Razdan, Rasheed Auguste, Tim Stuhldreher, Christina Walrond, Melissa Bates, Erica Bickford, PhD, Andrew Foss, Derek Gaston, Cheryl Moss Herman, Rory Stanley, Katheryn Scott, Tomy Granzier-Nakajima, PhD, Paul Donohoo-Vallett, Thomas Fanning, Abdalla Abou Jaoude, Chris Lohse, and more!

Today, September 30th, 2024, marks the 4th annual #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation. On this day, we honour the children who never returned home and Survivors of #ResidentialSchools in Canada, well as their families and communities. We renew our commitment to reconciliation with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples by continuing our learning journey and never forgetting. In honour of the fourth annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation; APTN, the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, CBC/Radio-Canada and the Algonquin Nation have united to produce a 90-minute multilingual commemorative gathering, entitled "Remembering the Children: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation" which will be broadcast live on September 30th. Thank you Generation Atomic
The ARC-100 is an advanced small modular nuclear reactor designed by Advanced Reactor Concepts LLC and GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy. It is based on sodium-cooled fast reactor technology, originally developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, with a track record of over 450 reactor-years of operating experience from a global fleet of similar reactors since the 1950s. The ARC-100 reactor is designed to provide 100 megawatts of stable electrical power, enough to supply around 75,000 households. It incorporates modern design improvements and inherent safety features that allow the reactor to safely shut down without operator intervention, relying on passive systems driven by physical laws. This design aims to be economical, seeking a projected cost of electricity competitive with renewables, and sustainable, as it operates on a 20-year refueling cycle and a 60 year operating lifecycle. The ARC-100 also targets versatility, with potential applications ranging from electricity generation to industrial heat and hydrogen production. It is scalable, with the ability to combine multiple units for larger power generation hubs, and like many advanced reactors, its components are designed to be factory-built and assembled on-site. #ARCCleanTechnology #ARC100 #GenerationAtomic #AdvancedNuclear #WattageWednesday Source: https://lnkd.in/g9k3qjaU https://lnkd.in/eay4rdza

Check out this upcoming event from our friends at Anthropocene Institute highlighting the turn in public opinion in favor of nuclear energy. #netzero #advancednuclear #SMRs https://lnkd.in/eABm555E?
Calling all investors, policymakers, and people concerned about clean energy and climate change! Did you know that 1.5x more people support nuclear energy’s use than oppose it? Or that the preference for nuclear energy is larger than for onshore wind, biomass from trees, or gas with carbon capture and storage? In this webinar, experts Mark W. Nelson and Richard Ollington of Radiant Energy Group will reveal: * What they found in conducting the Public Attitudes toward Clean Energy (PACE) index, the world’s largest publicly released international study on what people think about nuclear energy. * What drives attitudes regarding nuclear energy and how institutions can better cater to what the public wants. * How the nuclear industry can better present itself to the public: their 10-point plan. Join other energy experts, investors, and policymakers who have already registered for our webinar.
