Exciting news for British Columbia’s mining sector! Congratulations to Artemis Gold on the successful completion of its first gold and silver pour at the Blackwater Mine. I had the opportunity to tour Blackwater’s impressive facility earlier this month. Everything but the trucks are electrified! And even then, Blackwater has a plan to replace their vehicle fleet with electric vehicles in the next 5 years! Decarbonization at work! Mining and exploration in B.C. is at the forefront of technology and progress, running the cleanest, lowest emissions mines in the world. As BC’s first new gold mine since 2017, Blackwater is creating jobs, driving economic growth, and showcase leadership in responsible resource development. Well done to the Artemis team and all partners involved! Congratulations to B.C.’s newest mine, and I look forward to more in the future! #BCMining Artemis Gold Inc. https://lnkd.in/gB_357mA

Had a great week working with everyone at the BC Natural Resources Forum in Prince George. Highlights included engaging with First Nations, industry leaders and touring BC’s newest mine, Artemis Gold Inc. Thank you to everyone that helped organize this year’s BC Natural Resources Forum. What stood out to me was Premier David Eby’s speech, where he underlined our commitment to defend BC from the threat of Trump’s tariffs while strengthening BC. We are committed to working with Nations and the sector to explore, develop, and build new mines.

We had a great week at the BC Natural Resources Forum. Our Chairman and CEO, Steven Dean, was pleased to introduce Premier David Eby as the keynote speaker at the Celebrating Natural Resources Banquet. The Artemis Gold team appreciated meeting with First Nations, community, and government leaders and members throughout the conference. We’re already looking forward to next year! #BCNRF25 #artemisgold #blackwatermine #mining #miningbc

It’s always great being back in the city of Prince George, and I look forward to the BC Natural Resources Forum each year to catch up with old colleagues, friends and connections, and meet new ones. The forum is an opportunity to hear from First Nations, local governments, MLAs, natural resource companies and innovators about the great work underway in BC’s natural resource sectors, challenges to work on, and new opportunities on the horizon to add wealth and prosperity for communities around BC. As Premier Eby noted in his speech on opening night, the success of natural resource projects is key to the success of BC: “you can’t pour from an empty cup… We have to create wealth and we have to do it together.”
