CARB-TCMPA serves as the national forum for regulatory authorities across Canada, promoting quality practice and labor mobility for Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists. With founding members from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador, CARB-TCMPA ensures public protection through collaborative activities and by setting high standards for regulation, education, and training. The Pan-Canadian Examinations assess the competencies required for safe, competent, and ethical practice. Ashton Testing Services will be closed for Victoria Day in Canada: May 20th, 2024 Why do Canadians celebrate Victoria Day? ·       Birthday: Queen Victoria’s birthday. She reigned for 63 years!  Honouring History: Queen Victoria's reign coincided with Canada's Confederation in 1867, earning her the nickname "Mother of Confederation." Unofficial Summer Kickoff: Victoria Day often falls on the long weekend before summer. Many Canadians see it as a time to fire up the BBQ, head to the cottage, or enjoy some outdoor activities!  Do all provinces and territories recognize Victoria Day as a statutory holiday? No. There are four Canadian provinces that don't celebrate Victoria Day in the same way as the rest of Canada: ·       Nova Scotia: Victoria Day isn't a statutory holiday in Nova Scotia. They enjoy the long weekend, but it's not an official provincial holiday. ·       New Brunswick: New Brunswick doesn't consider Victoria Day a paid public holiday.  ·       Prince Edward Island: Prince Edward Island has Victoria Day listed as a holiday in provincial legislation, but it's not a statutory holiday with guaranteed time off work. ·       Quebec: Quebec renamed the holiday "Journée nationale des Patriotes" (National Patriotes Day) in 2002 to commemorate the Quebec Rebellion of 1837-38.
