This Halloween, #AuroraScientific wanted to highlight a recent paper from Debriun et al. investigating the impact of versican haploinsufficiency on muscle function in mdx mice. "In dystrophic mdx hindlimb muscles where fibrosis is limited, versican haploinsufficiency transiently improves contractile function without reducing inflammation" Dramatic morphological changes, such as the appearance of "ghost fibers" were present! Just like a ghostly figure, these fibers have lost their functional "life," often seen as faint, empty shells in tissue samples, haunting the muscle landscape where healthy fibers once thrived. Trusted instruments for research in muscle physiology, neuroscience and material science
About us
For over thirty years Aurora Scientific measurement instrumentation has been the choice of leading science researchers around the world. Our selection of dual mode lever systems and force transducers are used in a broad array of life science research specialties including exercise and metabolism, cardiology, injury recovery, gerontology, disease progression and pharmacology, and more. Our fast response sensors are considered benchmark instruments in olfaction research studying odor dynamics and pheromone/plume dispersion, and our mechanical stimulator technology is used in studies of the neuronal response to touch, pain and stretch. Many instruments have also been adapted for use by material science researchers studying the properties of artificial muscle, locomotion and nanomaterials. Legacy instruments used in the field of environmental monitoring and mine operations are still in use today. Aurora Scientific is committed to creating products that answer questions and solve problems. We value excellence, innovation, responsiveness and the satisfaction of a job well done. And we share the researcher’s desire to broaden the boundaries of knowledge and understanding.

Testing #contractility and force production of pathological #cardiac tissue has been a reliable and well-known measure of the development of cardiomyopathies. This measurement technique has also been used to test therapies which aim to treat cardiomyopathies. However, understanding how #ATPconsumption of pathological tissues changes when therapeutics are present is also valuable. Utilizing the measurement of NADH conversion to NAD+ via our 804A system will give researchers an indication of overall ATP consumption! https://lnkd.in/gc9FfvkQ

Nam et al., is making strides in the #VML community, developing a promising candidate for clinical applications in soft tissue repair. Researchers have developed a hydrogel-based adhesive that offers strong-tissue adhesion, rapid self-healing, and injectability. Using in-vivo and in-vitro studies this material proved to be biocompatible with minimal immune response and #muscleregeneration promotion in animal models. #3in1 #1300A Check it out here! https://lnkd.in/gYP9KSrs
