🚀 3 Days of Everything Space, Right Here on Earth! 🚀 At the #SpaceBound event hosted by Space Canada | Espace Canada, the conversations, panel discussions were just not about rockets and satellites. We explored how space is a part of all our lives—every single day. The space industry affects how we live, work, and even how we connect with each other in ways you might not realize: 🌍 Weather Forecasts: Ever wondered how you know whether to grab an umbrella? Thank the satellites orbiting above us, providing the weather data we rely on daily. 📡 Global Connectivity: From GPS to satellite internet, space tech ensures we stay connected whether we're navigating city streets or making a video call from a remote location. 🚑 Healthcare Advancements: Medical technologies originally developed for space missions are now used in hospitals for patient care—think about advanced imaging tools or even telemedicine that reaches rural areas. 🌱 Agriculture and Food Security: Satellites monitor crops, track climate changes, and help farmers make informed decisions that improve food production—impacting what’s on your plate. 🌍 Climate Monitoring: Our fight against climate change relies heavily on space technology, which monitors Earth's health and provides data to address environmental challenges. But none of this works without the people behind it—the diverse, talented workforce driving the future of space. Whether you're in STEM, education, healthcare, or logistics—space needs you. Space is no longer “up there”—it’s right here, shaping our daily lives in ways big and small. The future of space is exciting, and we’re all part of the story! 🌌🙌 #SpaceEconomy #SpaceApplications #AvinyaTalent #Innovation #SpaceWorkforce #Impact Shruthi Dinkar

Fractional CMO for B2B Tech, Space Tech & Aerospace Startups & ScaleUps | Providing Marketing & Communications Leadership to Fuel Business Growth 🚀

The Canadian space economy is growing, but it needs a pipeline of talent, growing companies and government support. This is what I heard on many of Space Canada | Espace Canada's SpaceBound conference panels over the past few days. This event brought together industry, government, academia, and students, highlighting the sector's diverse opportunities and also the gaps in funding and strategy. As some of you may have noticed in my posts, I'm not only working as a fractional marketer for space companies but I'm also marketing the world's best kept secret, the Space Economy. If you use a phone, watch TV or check the weather, it's a sector that touches everyone's lives daily. Just like the tech sector, the space economy needs qualified candidates from very technical backgrounds like engineers, scientists as well as sales, marketing, communications, operations, administration and many more types of jobs. CANADIAN JOBS IN THE SPACE ECONOMY For those of you in Canada who are not working in this industry, but are interested in pursuing a career in this sector, here are a few options to get started: 1. Check out Space Canada's About Page to find companies working in space nationwide (linked below). 2. Contact a new Canadian space talent and training agency called AVINYA TALENT (linked below). 3. Students check out Zenith Canada Pathways Foundation. They focus on underrepresented and disadvantaged groups to support a highly qualified Canadian Aerospace Industry. ACADEMIA & INDUSTRY OPPORTUNITY Industry partners along with students from universities and colleges can also leverage Dominant Information Solutions Canada (DISC) Inc's Space Lab for Cybersecurity in Ottawa. This is where professors, students and industry partners can develop and test innovative cybersecurity solutions using a wide array of satellite components, architectures, and subsystems. #SpaceIndustry #CanadianSpaceIndustry #Cybersecurity #SpaceTechnology Jason Carvalho Shruthi Dinkar Scott Flukinger Garvey McIntosh Emeline Bardoux Nathan De Ruiter Jen Scholten Bryn Orth-Lashley Carolyn MacGregor (she/her) Daniel Sax Howard H W Stanley Jacqueline Good Jay Millman Jordan Miller
