Today, the People’s University for Gaza celebrated an act of disgusting vandalism at UBC— the placing of a pig’s head on a campus gate with a message reading “pigs off campus.” This sickening act, loaded with antisemitic hatred, crosses every moral line. It represents a clear lack of respect for law and order and is a shameful insult to the members of law enforcement who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting Canadians. These “students,” who, in their social media post refer to Canada as “KKKanada,” clearly have no respect for Canadian values. They stand against everything this country represents—decency, diversity, and unity. Their calls to shut down the campus make it clear: they don’t care about education or dialogue. They are utilizing a foreign conflict as a justification to destroy the very fabric of Canadian society. This isn’t just an insult to the Jewish community. It’s an assault on Canadian values, and on all of us who cherish freedom and safety. UBC must act immediately to protect students before this hate spreads further. We will not allow our universities to become breeding grounds for antisemitism and division. Canada deserves better. UBC must take action NOW. To the vandals who chose to defile McGill's campus on Friday, your actions are a cowardly attempt to destroy not just university property, but also the core Canadian values of respect, decency, and community. You hide behind anonymity, lacking the courage of your convictions to stand by your principles, choosing instead to cover your faces in shame as you carry out your disgraceful acts. You should know that your cowardice has not go unnoticed, and your actions will not stand unchallenged. Shame on you! McGill University, now is the time for decisive action. A message, that the antisemitism and unrest that occurred over the course of the last school year will no longer be tolerated, must be sent. The University must ensure that its campus remains a safe and welcoming environment for all students. #ShameOnYou #McGill #Vandalism #CanadianValues

B’nai Brith Canada has communicated to universities across the country that it will be monitoring antisemitism on their campuses and will not hesitate to stand up for the rights of Jewish students.   “The status quo is unacceptable,” B’nai Brith wrote in letters addressed to the administrators of more than 80 schools in Canada. “It is the university’s responsibility to create a welcoming and respectful learning environment so that each student has the opportunity to thrive.”   B’nai Brith also urged the institutions to enforce existing anti-hate policies and amend Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (DEI) protocols to include Jewish community members.   “We will be watching how institutions address hateful incitement and antisemitic acts on their campuses this year,” said Richard Robertson, B’nai Brith’s Director of Research and Advocacy. “Universities must not again permit unreasonable and illegal demonstrations such as the anti-Israel encampments that cropped up in April last year. These encampments were often the sites of inexcusable support for terrorist organizations and represented a full-throated assault on Canadian values.   “We hope administrators have learned from their mistakes and will adopt proactive measures to ensure the wellbeing of the Jewish members of their communities.”  #university #antisemitism #DEI #CDNPoli

Prof. Tawab Hlimi, an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape, has been spreading hateful antisemitic misinformation online that is deeply alarming to the Jewish community and unbecoming of any educator. Prof. Hlimi’s social media posts have attacked Jews and the State of Israel using grotesque and inflammatory language. In one of his many posts, he referred to the Walk with Israel event and accused Canadian Jews of being “seemingly proud that their terrorist state is literally grinding human flesh, bones, and blood into the ground." He has used blood libel, spread unfounded conspiracy theories, and engaged in vile attempts to demonize Jews and Israel. Jewish students cannot be expected to feel safe under the guidance of a professor who espouses such extreme and dangerous views. No student should have to fear discrimination or hatred from those entrusted with their education. B’nai Brith Canada will not allow this reprehensible behaviour to go unchecked. B’nai Brith Canada has submitted an official complaint to the Dean of the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape at the University of Calgary, demanding swift and decisive action. #Exposed #Antisemitism #Canada #HateSpeech #BnaiBrith #UCalgary

Thanks to B'nai Brith Canada's relentless advocacy, both the Rialto Theatre in Montreal and the British Columbia Institute of Technology have declined to host events featuring the notorious antisemitic preacher, Assim Al-Hakeem. This is a powerful win in the fight against extremism in Canada. We commend both venues for standing up for Canadian values and refusing to allow their stages to be used as platforms to spread hate and division. This victory sends a clear message: Hate and extremism will not be tolerated in our communities. B'nai Brith Canada will continue to take action to ensure that dangerous figures like Al-Hakeem have no place in our society. We remain steadfast in our mission to protect all Canadians from the threats of radicalization and antisemitism. Thank you to everyone who stood with us and supported this vital cause. Together, we are safeguarding Canada's future as a multicultural nation where all persons are welcome. #NoToHate #CanadianValues #ZeroTolerance #VictoryForCanada #BCIT #BCAgainstHate #CDNPoli

B'nai Brith advocacy in action!    For several weeks, B'nai Brith Canada has been advising Canadian authorities and alerting the public to the danger of allowing Assim Al Hakeem, an antisemitic preacher known for his extremist ideology, to enter Canada and spread his hateful views here. To minimize his ability to disseminate his radical and divisive views, B'nai Brith also engaged with the venues where Al Hakeem would be appearing.    B'nai Brith is relieved to learn that the Rialto Theatre in Montreal, where Al Hakeem was to appear tomorrow night, has opted to do the right thing and will be denying Al Hakeem the ability to use its stage as a pulpit from which to indoctrinate, radicalize and divide Canadians.     We encourage the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where Al Hakeem is scheduled to appear on Tuesday, to do the same.    Hate has no place in Canada. At B'nai Brith, we remain committed to  protecting Canadian values and to ensuring the flourishing of our multicultural and diverse society.

Last night, St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg, hosted Assim Al-Hakeem, a known antisemite and extremist. Despite B'nai Brith Canada's urgent warnings to the church and to the Archdiocese of Winnipeg about his history of spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories, Holocaust denial, and promoting violence, the church ignored our calls and proceeded with this hate-filled event. Assim Al-Hakeem has publicly demonized Jews, glorified terrorism, and justified inhumane practices such as sexual slavery. By allowing him to speak, St. Peter's Church has shamefully chosen to welcome his hateful rhetoric into its community—a decision that defies the values of compassion and unity that the church is supposed to uphold. This is a betrayal of Canadian values. B’nai Brith Canada calls on both the Church and the Archdiocese of Winnipeg to publicly condemn the antisemitism they have enabled and to take responsibility for this egregious lapse in judgment. Incredibly, despite clear evidence of his hate-filled and extremist views, Assim Al-Hakeem is scheduled to speak at upcoming events at the Four Points by Sheraton in London, Ontario, the Rialto Theatre in Montreal, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology. We call on these venues to immediately cancel his appearances and refuse to provide a platform for his dangerous rhetoric. It is the responsibility of these institutions to ensure they are not complicit in the spread of antisemitism and extremism in Canada. B'nai Brith Canada demands that these venues take swift action to protect their communities and uphold Canadian values. We will not stand by as hate spreads unchecked in our communities. The Canadian government and all institutions must remain vigilant in the fight against hate speech and extremism. #antisemitism #hate #CDNPoli

The Vancouver Queer Film Festival (VQFF) has crossed a dangerous line. Once a celebration of #2SLGBTQIA+ stories, it now prioritizes divisive and hateful agendas. By aligning with the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, VQFF is actively excluding Israeli culture and promoting an agenda that targets Jewish members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Worse yet, they openly align themselves with Charlotte Kates, who is currently under investigation for violating hate speech laws and is the international coordinator of Samidoun, an organization known for glorifying terrorism against Israel. Figures such as Fatima Jaffer, known for spreading hateful content, and Queers Against Israeli Apartheid, notorious for fostering division, are also given special mention in the program. Shamefully, despite benefiting from taxpayer dollars through government funding, the VQFF brazenly perpetuates racist policies by excluding Israeli films from their line-up. How can an organization, backed by our own government, so openly promote hatred and division? This is not pride – it’s prejudice. We must reject the hijacking of our LGBTQIA+ spaces by those who seek to divide. We stand for true inclusivity and unity. Hate has no place in our communities. #PrideWithoutPrejudice #RejectTheHate #Pride #VQFF

Shame on You, Fred Hahn! At a time when leadership demands accountability, Fred Hahn, President of CUPE Ontario, has instead chosen to double down on his divisive and hateful actions. Despite widespread outrage, including calls for his resignation from CUPE's National Executive Board, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, and Jewish communities across the country, Hahn clings to his position, refusing to take responsibility for his spreading of blatantly antisemitic content. Hahn's shameful actions include sharing an outrageous video that depicted an Olympic athlete with a Star of David turning into a bomb. This disgraceful post isn't just an insult to the Jewish community; it’s an attack on our shared Canadian values of decency, respect, and human dignity. Fred Hahn, your refusal to step down sends a clear message: You care more about clinging to power than about healing the wounds you’ve inflicted. You’ve lost the trust of your members, your colleagues, and the public. The union you lead deserves better. Ontario deserves better. Canada deserves better. Step down, Fred Hahn. Shame on you! #ShameOnYou #FredHahn #Cupe #antisemitism
