As Yom Kippur approaches, we reflect on a year of challenges and pray for peace and safety for all, especially our brothers and sisters in Israel. May this day bring comfort, strength, and hope to those facing hardship, and may we all be inscribed in the Book of Life. G’mar Chatima Tova. #YomKippur

Tomorrow, on Yom Kippur, an anti-Israel march is set to target a Jewish neighbourhood in Winnipeg. The poster promoting this event explicitly depicts violence, raising concerns for the safety of our community. This is not just a protest — it is an intentional act of intimidation on one of the holiest days of the Jewish calendar, targeting innocent people and threatening our community’s right to feel safe in their own neighbourhoods. Authorities have been notified, and we urge all community members to remain vigilant. This is yet another example of hate being allowed to fester on our streets. We stand firm: violence and hate have no place in Canada. We call on local authorities to ensure the protection of Jewish residents. #Hate #Antisemitism #Winnipeg #Manitoba #CDNPoli

Dr. Barry Lavallee, a licensed physician in Manitoba, has unleashed vile and antisemitic hatred online, betraying the trust of the public and tarnishing the medical profession. His abhorrent statements glorify violence against Jews, deny their right to self-determination, and invoke dangerous conspiracy theories aimed at dehumanizing an entire community. B’nai Brith Canada has filed a formal complaint with The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, demanding immediate action. A physician who promotes such grotesque hatred has no place in Canadian society, let alone in the medical profession, where he is entrusted with the care and well-being of others. We will not stand by as hate continues to spread unchecked, especially from those whose professional obligations require them to adhere to the highest ethical standards. The College must act swiftly to send a clear message: there is no room for hate in our healthcare system, and no tolerance for those who spread division and fear. #Exposed #Antisemitism #HateSpeech #Canada #PublicSafety #Manitoba

Shame on you Olivia Chow. At a time when Toronto’s Jewish community needed strong leadership and support, Mayor Olivia Chow's absence from the October 7 vigil and her excuses have only deepened the hurt. The mayor's failure to attend this critical commemoration has left the Jewish community feeling ignored and unsafe in the face of rising antisemitism. B’nai Brith Canada stands with our community in demanding accountability from Mayor Chow, urging her to acknowledge her failures and take concrete steps to protect Toronto's Jewish residents. Toronto's Jewish residents deserve better. We demand real action to protect our community from the rising tide of antisemitism. Enough excuses—Shame on you! Iyad Abuhamed, a dangerous extremist known for promoting terrorism and antisemitism, has been invited to speak at McGill University today, October 10th. Abuhamed has glorified terrorist attacks and continues to support violent extremism, posing a potential threat to the safety and security of students on campus. His rhetoric, including calling October 7 a “victory for our people,” fuels hatred, undermining the values of tolerance and inclusivity that Canada stands for. His appearance is a clear violation of McGill’s commitment to fostering a safe environment for all students. We urge McGill University to take immediate, decisive action to cancel this event and protect the campus from hate and extremism. #McGillU #Canada #Hate #Antisemitism #CDNPoli #Montreal #EnoughIsEnough

Kol Hakavod to Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) for their unwavering commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus. As part of their EDI framework, they have proudly adopted the IHRA definition of antisemitism, reflecting a strong stance against hate and a dedication to fostering dignity and mutual respect for all. This important step underscores CUE’s leadership in promoting a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for students, staff, and faculty. Their actions truly set a positive example for institutions across Canada to follow. #KolHakavod #IHRA #Antisemitism

Shame on You, St. James United Church. St. James United Church in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, hosted a shameful, tone-deaf, anti-Israel event on October 6th—just one day before the one-year anniversary of the horrific Hamas terrorist attack that claimed 1,200 innocent lives, including Canadian citizens. The event, titled the “Palestine Land Exercise,” presented a distorted view of Israel’s history through the discredited “four maps” narrative, a piece of propaganda designed to delegitimize Israel’s existence. Rather than fostering dialogue or mutual understanding, the event spread misinformation and deepened divisions, rejecting any notion of peaceful coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians. That this event was supported by the Anglican Parish of Three Harbours added further insult to the memory of those who were murdered. By hosting and supporting this event, both St. James United Church and the Anglican Parish of Three Harbours failed to honour their commitments to Christian-Jewish dialogue and actively contributed to the rise of antisemitism in Canada. We condemn this hateful and ill-timed event and call on St. James United Church to stop promoting division and ensure that any future discussions about Israel include Jewish and Israeli perspectives. Shame on you, St. James United Church! #StandUpToHate #StopAntisemitism #Antisemitism #ShameOnYou #StJamesUnitedChurch #UnitedChurchOfCanada The United Church of Canada

Abu Ibrahim, who is known for spreading radical and violent ideologies, has been invited to speak at Brock University on Thursday of this week. Ibrahim has openly supported the Taliban's take over of Afghanistan, calling it a “positive development,” and has defended the actions of Hamas, a designated terrorist organization in #Canada. Ibrahim openly calls for the destruction of Israel, and advocates for the dismantling of democracy, claiming that only a global Islamic Caliphate under Sharia law is legitimate. He has troublingly inferred that political ideologies that promote #LGBTQ+ rights are an "infestation". His extreme rhetoric is not just inflammatory—it poses a potential threat to the safety and security of those on campus, particularly Jewish and LGBTQ+ members of the campus community and anyone opposing terrorism and extremism. We strongly advise avoiding this event. Brock University must act immediately to cancel this event and ensure the safety of its students by refusing to provide a platform to a known extremist. #BrockU #BrockUniversity #Hate #Terrorism
