This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the women shaping our communities—leaders like Mary Gerges B.A., M.P.P., BC Housing’s A/AVP, Brand & Equity Strategies and recipient of the 2024 YWCA’s Reconciliation in Action – Indigenous Ally Award. Mary is committed to meaningful change, ensuring Indigenous voices and perspectives are valued in housing. She played a key role in shaping inclusive funding criteria for the $3.3B Community Housing Fund, developed reconciliation & equity strategies across sectors, and continues to amplify Survivor voices as a Board member of the Orange Shirt Society. For over 40 years, the YWCA awards have celebrated women and gender-diverse leaders who break barriers and build bridges. They represent progress, the work ahead, and the strength of standing together. Congratulations, Mary! #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenWhoLead YWCA Metro Vancouver
