How are ROI assumptions for investing in export controls compliance changing amid a new geopolitical world order and the growing US-China rivalry? Brent Carlson joined Thomas Fox on the FCPA Compliance Report podcast to review challenges compliance professionals face in articulating the value proposition for investments in compliance programs as export controls emerge as the “new FCPA.” Brent highlighted big-picture drivers that are upending former assumptions about the costs of compliance programs. He also identified ways legal and compliance teams can demonstrate tangible benefits of investing in compliance programs, especially as export controls pose “central compliance risks” for many companies, extending beyond even those posed by the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Listen to the full episode ▶️ https://lnkd.in/gP6ab2y5 The episode provides listeners with critical insights into practical steps for enhancing compliance programs and the importance of staying ahead of regulatory—and enforcement—developments in a rapidly changing global trade environment. #compliance #ExportControls #BRGexpert

Meet Giordano Colarullo, who has recently joined BRG’s expanding EMEA Competition Practice, based in Rome. He says "Utilities and infrastructure owners are dealing with climate-driven operating challenges, scene-changing innovation and fast-evolving market dynamics. Their business strategy depends on finding efficient and effective solutions, which in turn requires innovative thinking, based on empirical analysis and evidence. These pressures can also lead to contentious relationships with business partners. I have been helping firms navigate these issues for over twenty years, drawing on the full range of economic disciplines including competition and antitrust, regulatory and public policy, incentive design and firm organisation. I am thrilled to be joining BRG at such an exciting time. A worldwide team of industry and thought leaders and an entrepreneurial company culture give BRG an unsurpassable capacity to find the best skills and team to deliver exceptional solutions to our clients’ most complex problems."
