JOHN VOSKUYL Company Founder John began his career in the seismic industry in 1966 with Seismotech 64 Ltd. There, he learned about seismic records, report writing, mapping and the start of digital seismic data processing. In 1969, John began working as a seismic data processor with Digitech Ltd, working extremely long hours. John took a one-year contract for Sonatrach in Algeria in 1975, supervising several ex-pats and training several local Algerian staff. After Algeria, John became a processing supervisor with Veritas Seismic Ltd, responsible for 20 different projects at a time and had a staff of junior processors working for him. In 1983, John became a field acquisition supervisor for Veritas Geophysical and was responsible for all facets of data acquisition. John supervised the company’s first 3D seismic field projects during the winter of 1985-1986. In 1987, John started his company, B.J. Voskuyl Exploration (now known as BJV Design Inc.), where he became one of the first people to design 3D seismic programs in Western Canada. After 40 wonderful years in this great industry, John retired in July 2006. Today, John’s wealth of knowledge and experience is still drawn upon as a special advisor to the company. John is an extremely devoted family man. He is a husband of over 50 years, father of 2 daughters, and a wonderful grandpa to 5 grandchildren. He is always there for his family, spending as much time with them as possible, bringing dinner to each daughter’s family weekly and cheering at every one of his grandchildren’s sporting events. John also loves hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, reading and travelling.
