Earlier this month, BlueShore's Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, Armita Alikhani, delivered opening remarks at the Zili100 wellness event for women hosted by Zili CARE. Armita addressed the need for system changes and supports for women to increase leadership diversity. The statistics in McKinsey & Company Women in the Workplace 2024 report are compelling with only 29% of C-suite positions being held by women and 7% by women of colour. McKinsey also reports a trend, where senior women are departing organizations at unprecedented rates. As Armita noted, the solution lies not in requiring women to do more, but in building robust support systems and institutional change. #BlueShoreFinancial team members volunteered to roll up their sleeves at the Cheakamus Centre in Brackendale for a day of environmental impact. Our volunteers had fun working on nature trail restoration projects, including strategic beaver dam management to support local salmon migration patterns.
