I am thrilled to see Dr. jack taunton appointed a Member of the Order of Canada. Dr. Taunton is an early leader in sport and exercise medicine and a Professor emeritus at The University of British Columbia. Dr. Taunton's journey is a remarkable testament to perseverance and dedication. Overcoming early challenges, including polio and a severe bike accident, he recovered and thrived, becoming a nationally-ranked marathoner and a pioneering figure in sports medicine. Due to his boundless resiliency and optimism, Jack has shown a knack for accomplishing the impossible. He has supported athlete health at eight Olympic Games and earned a rare distinction from the International Olympic Committee for the best sports medicine program in Olympic Games-host history for his role as Chief Medical Officer for Vancouver 2010. His contributions to sports medicine extend far beyond his involvement in founding the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre and his pivotal role in multiple Olympic Games and international sports events. At Brains Bio, we are incredibly fortunate to have Jack as a key advisor. His insights and guidance have been invaluable, and I am personally grateful for the opportunity to learn from him. His commitment to excellence and innovation continues to inspire us all. Dr. Taunton's list of accolades is truly impressive. He has been inducted into several Halls of Fame, including the BC Sports Hall of Fame, the Simon Fraser University Sports Hall of Fame.
