The people behind your infrastructure
About us
We began as a civil engineering firm in 1969, but have grown into much more. Though we remain experts at civic infrastructure, we now have a wide range of disciplines, from offices in northern, central, and southern BC. If you have driven in British Columbia, used tap water or visited a regional park or sports field, you have engaged with our work. We work in communities all over BC and across Canada, offering construction services and highway engineering, traffic planning, land development, urban landscape architecture, parks and recreation facilities, project management, geomatics and land surveying services. Recent projects include the Alex Fraser Bridge Improvement Project, Translink RapidBus Service, and the BCIT North Campus Infrastructure Project. Whether we’re working on a road, a park or a hospital, we see beyond the engineering to the communities that will use them – now and well into the future. Work at Binnie: We have a broad range of roles that extend beyond engineering. Are you creative? You could be a Landscape Architect or Designer. Are you technical? You could be a Civil Engineer or a CAD Technician. Are you detail-oriented and people-focused? You could be a Project Manager or a Project Management Technician. Are you adventurous and outdoorsy? You could be an Engineering Surveyor, a Construction Manager, or an Inspector.

Last week, our Young Professionals group had a fantastic time kayaking at Deep Cove! The weather was perfect, and some even spotted jellyfish swimming by while enjoying the stunning island views. They wrapped up the day with a good chat with some delicious pizza. A huge thank you to everyone who joined and made the event successful. Your enthusiasm and participation made all the difference! Special thanks to Andrew Stedman and Adrian Suarez for their support in making this event possible. 🙌 #YoungProfessionals #KayakAdventure #Teamwork

Yesterday, several teams from the BC Transportation industry, including Binnie staff members, gathered for the 2024 KC Classic Golf Tournament at Meadow Gardens Golf Club in Pitt Meadows. Our booth was set up at Hole 13, and Binnie staff watched for the potential Hole-in-One Prize. Many golfers tested their skills and some of them were very close to winning the $20,000 Hole-in-One prize! Every year, Binnie signs up as a sponsor and plays to support the ALS Society of BC in memory of Keith Callander. Keith, a dedicated member of the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, lost his courageous battle with ALS on January 10th, 2017. It was an honor to support this wonderful annual event and engage with the vibrant golf community while also celebrating the memory of Keith Callander and the game he loved so much.

Another step forward for Maplewood Gardens! We’re proud to support QuadReal Property Group in this crucial phase, bringing us closer to supporting the North Vancouver community. We couldn’t be more excited to see the positive impact this project will have on local families and the overall growth of the area.
A full team effort at QuadReal Property Group to obtain 3rd Reading for our Maplewood Gardens site in the District of North Vancouver. Thankful for the support of the design team led by RWA Group Architecture Ltd, PWL Partnership Landscape Architects Inc., Binnie, and Bunt & Associates Engineering Ltd.. The 500+ homes will allow families to remain on the north shore and add much needed supply to a strained, local housing market while realizing the vision of the OCP as a Village Centre. We couldn't be more excited to move onto the next phase and continue to grow our presence in the North Vancouver community!
