The Canadian Parking Association’s Annual Conference & Tradeshow was in full swing from October 6-9 in Halifax, and Bunt’s Jason Dunn and Ezekiel Dada were delighted to attend some very informative sessions and participate in several engaging discussions amongst many of Canada’s parking and mobility professionals. The future of parking and mobility is exciting, and we look forward to seeing the solutions that are created and put into practice over the next few years. #Parking #ParkingSolutions #CanadianParkingAssociation

Hats off to the Transportation Association of Canada / Association des transports du Canada for hosting another successful Annual Conference, held in Vancouver from September 22-25. 👏 Bunt’s Mike Furuya (Principal and Board Chair) and Caitlyn Quach, (Transportation Analyst) were there with amongst nearly 1,700 other industry experts. Mike had the pleasure of presenting on the ‘The Next 25 Years of Road Safety Audits’ alongside Geoffrey Ho of G. Ho Engineering Consultants – a session proudly sponsored by Bunt. It was a fantastic few days of seeing new and familiar faces, and learning from a ton of professionals about the latest advancements in transportation technology and how digital innovations are transforming our transportation systems. From engaging technical sessions and panel discussions, to a driving simulator modeling proposed road designs, to a site tour of the Skytrain operations control centre, (and everything in between!) it’s an event that always delivers. We hope to see you in Quebec City in 2025. 📅 #TACConf2024 #TransportationTechnology #TransportationEngineering

UNANIMOUS LAND USE APPROVAL|MIDTOWN STATION|CALGARY|CANADA As the Initiator and Lead Development Consultant for Midtown Station, a World Class TOD mega-project, we are pleased to begin the 4th Quarter of 2024 with all Approvals and Entitlements finalizing the Land Use Redesignation for this development. Spanning a period of eight years, from Vision through to Land Use Approval, the dedicated Team, representing Cantana Investments Limited of Calgary, worked diligently and collaboratively with the City of Calgary and adjacent stakeholders. This involved Senior City Administration's COO Stuart Dalgleish, Planning Department - singling out Wallace Leung (our sixth and final file manager), and Dale Calkins Senior Executive Advisor - Calgary Planning Commission and City Council provided Unanimous Approval for every element of the project, from start to finish. This is indeed a rare accomplishment – particularly for a 34 acre development potentially yielding a maximum of over eight million square feet with 10 percent as non-market housing, in 28 buildings ranging in height from two to 42 storeys. Beginning with the selection of the Architectural/Planning/Engineering firm of Arcadis Canada (formerly IBI Group), an international firm with deep experience in mega projects such as Midtown Station, an exceptional Team was created. ARCADIS personnel included former leader Stephen Shawcross of IBI (retired), Ben Lee, Samuel Alatorre, Rod Sieker and many others who assisted tremendously. The main contracted experts, Jason Dunn from Bunt & Associates Engineering Ltd. for transportation matters, (TIA of some 1,000 pages), Kevin Keyes from Parlee McLaws LLP for legal advisory and contractual issues, Rick Grol former SDAB Chair for 15 years, and Doug Debnam of Tyler Realty, all helped us with those missing pieces. Without this Team and their combined experience, totalling hundreds of years dedicated solely to quality real estate, Midtown Station would not exist. I personally thank you all for your commitment, dedication, experience and hard work to make this happen. TEN QUICK REASONS WHY MIDTOWN STATION IS SO UNIQUE · Highly recognized, City-wide location - Macleod/Glenmore intersection · Strategic equidistant position between LRT Stations at 61 and 82 Ave SW · Single ownership property - 34 acres gross - 25 acres net - Max 8M+ sf · Approved DC Land Use provides open canvas for flexible architecture · Development contains 32 percent of gross plan area for public realm · Includes proposed, unique & fully integrated, developer funded LRT Station · Exceeds new proposed road, pathway, sidewalk & boulevard ROW needs · Exceptionally high data capabilities due to high-capacity feeder fiber trunks · Open view in all directions - facilitated by spacing and diagonal floorplates · Landmark, pedestrian-only retail spine, over five blocks in sunny orientation INFORMATION Stay tuned for more updates!

Here we have a bunch of Bunters (and special guests) holding on to the last bit of summer during our Annual Summer Picnic on one of the last sunny Saturdays in September. ☀ Before we accept that fall is here and winter is just around the corner, here’s a few snaps from the fun-filled afternoon that consisted of volleyball, card games, delicious Chinese food and what has become an annual tradition – the Bunt Amazing Race. 🏃♂️ Great chats and laughs aplenty were had and we look forward to more Bunt events to come – as always, arranged by the best workplace social committee in town. 🙌 #TeamEvent #SummerPicnic #EmployeeAppreciation

Monday, September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day - a day to advance our understanding and awareness of Indigenous history as well as to honour and acknowledge the victims and survivors of residential schools. Bunt recognizes that the journey towards reconciliation is complex, and the impacts of residential schools is ongoing. We are encouraged to listen, learn, and hear what is being shared on Canada’s Indigenous history. There are many ways we can do this, including attending events, increasing connections with Indigenous communities, and incorporating Indigenous learning into ongoing training and development efforts. Reconciliation is the responsibility of every Canadian and we can all do our part in exploring and learning about the histories, experiences and culture of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. In observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Bunt offices will be closed on September 30th.
