“For well over 100 years, Stampede Park has been a gathering place for our community as well as for visitors from around the world. When we first explored the idea of an expanded BMO Centre, we did so with the vision of creating a world-class facility that would offer Calgarians, southern Albertans and guests to our city a greater way to gather,” says Joel Cowley, CEO of the Calgary Stampede. “Since opening, the local and global response has been tremendous, with more than 500 conventions and events booked, including large-scale events that we weren’t previously able to accommodate.” Calgary Municipal Land Corporation | BMO | Tourism Calgary

We are proud to share that the BMO Centre has made the 2024 Skift Meetings Awards shortlist for Best Convention Centre outside of the U.S. In its second year, the Skift Meetings Awards celebrate the business events industry’s most respected and innovative suppliers. At the Calgary Stampede, you'll often hear us saying 'See something, say something." Well, that's just what one Calgary Stampede employee did when he saw a duckling stuck in a sewer near Youth Campus on Stampede Park earlier this month. With all hands on deck, the employees rescued the duckling in less than an hour! The quick action of these employees is a representation of the care taken to support biodiversity and the ecosystem on Stampede Park. We were happy to see the duckling reuniting with mom and siblings as they headed to the Bow River for a peaceful float.

Yesterday we had the honour of awarding the Calgary Stampede Lotteries winners with their prizes. The success of the 2024 Calgary Stampede Lotteries would not be possible without the support of our community, Volunteers, sponsors and our service club partners: Kinsmen Club of Calgary, Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park and the Calgary Marching Show Band Association. Through the work of these organizations, and you, we’re able to help build community and ensure that everyone has an opportunity to be their Greatest. We look forward to announcing the total 2024 donation amounts soon!
