  • As we enter our fourth year of calling for inclusive, sustainable and long-term economic growth, the Coalition’s national voice is more important than ever. While in some ways Canada is better off, we are deeply concerned by key performance indicators that show our economy is heading in the wrong direction. This will have substantial opportunity costs for our society. In every community we visit, we see the consequences this is having for Canadians. Economic growth is not an abstract concept only discussed in boardrooms and political circles. It’s the driving force that ensures we can put food on our tables, go to work, take care of our children and seniors and those most vulnerable, and ensure the air we breathe is clean. Committed to action, the Coalition will use our convening power to rally Canadians on this critical question: What does economic growth mean to you? Join the conversation here and share this with your network! #GrowthForAllCdns #cdnpoli #cdnecon https://lnkd.in/eZ5TPUfy

  • We’re excited to announce that our co-chairs, Honourable A Anne McLellan, P.C., O.C.,A.O.E. and Hon. Lisa Raitt, will visit the University of Alberta on October 23 as part of our Campus Tour series, supported by Shell Canada. We are delighted that Simon Dyer, Deputy Executive Director of the Pembina Institute, will join them in a conversation with Dr. Marvin Washington, Dean of the College of Social Sciences & Humanities. Andrea Hepp, P.Eng, President of Atlas Carbon Storage at Shell, will also be present. Building a stronger and more sustainable economy begins with empowering young leaders. We look forward to discussing with students how policymakers, businesses, stakeholders, and individuals can make decisions that create a more #inclusive and #sustainable economy. 📣 Be part of the conversation - let us know what economic growth means to you at https://lnkd.in/euMupXwn #BetterFutureForCanada #GrowthForAllCdns

  • 📈🇨🇦 What does economic growth mean for you? Dennis Darby P.Eng., ICD.D, CEO and President of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters and a Coalition for a Better Future member, shares his perspective on the impact of prosperity. 🏭💼 “No manufacturer, no company wants to see its employees struggling and not able to keep up. We need economic growth. That's how we fund our schools. That's how we make sure communities are strong, people have enough money to invest, to save, to get into education.” ~ Dennis Darby, CEO & President, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters It's a powerful reminder that behind every economic strategy and decision, there are real impacts on people. Let's champion a future where economic growth translates into #prosperity for all #Canadians. ✍ Share your thoughts in the comments or online here: https://lnkd.in/euMupXwn #GrowthForAllCdns #BetterFutureForCanada

DO GOOD TO LEAD WELL PODCAST ALERT! BRIDGING THE POLITICAL DIVIDE FOR PROSPERITY: A CONVERSATION WITH THE HONOURABLE ANNE MCLELLAN AND THE HONOURABLE LISA RAITT CO-CHAIRS, COALITION FOR A BETTER FUTURE What if leaders from opposite sides of the political aisle could come together to chart a path for a better economic future? Although this may seem like a far-fetched idea based on our current climate, I had the distinct pleasure of hosting the Honourable A Anne McLellan, P.C., O.C.,A.O.E. and the Hon. Lisa Raitt, co-chairs of the Coalition for a Better Future, to explore their inspiring bipartisan efforts aimed at rejuvenating #Canada's economy. You'll hear about the coalition's origins, its mission rooted in the global call to "build back better," and how these two formidable leaders use their diverse backgrounds to push for sustainable and inclusive economic growth. We also discuss the vital role of evidence-based decision-making and the power of cross-partisan collaboration, offering insights into the benefits of starting from a common factual base to reduce polarization. They share candid personal anecdotes and practical advice on lowering the emotional temperature during contentious conversations, making this a must-listen for anyone interested in effective, empathetic leadership focused on making real progress rather than focusing on refusing to compromise. The live audience was deeply inspired by their camaraderie and mutual respect. I received so many comments during the recording as well as in follow-up emails. This episode is a compelling reminder that economic progress isn’t just about numbers; it’s about people, unity, and a collective vision for a better future. Tune in to be inspired and learn how you can contribute to a more prosperous Canada. • On this #NationalDayForTruthAndReconciliation, we remember the victims and honour the survivors of residential schools. We acknowledge the profound impact this system has had on Indigenous Peoples. Today is a moment to learn, reflect and work toward reconciliation. Did you know that in 2023, the share of management positions held by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis slipped to 2.4% from 2.7% a year earlier? This is less than half the Coalition's 5% target for management positions. Building a more inclusive Canada means ensuring that Indigenous Peoples are equal partners at the table in developing better policies. #NDTR #EveryChildMatters
