Le jeudi 9 mai 2024, l'Association canadienne pour l'étude du foie se joindra à Action Hépatite Canada, CanHepC, CanHepB et la Fondation canadienne du foie pour souligner la 3e Journée canadienne annuelle d'élimination de l'hépatite virale à Ottawa. CINQ DEMANDES AU GOUVERNEMENT FÉDÉRAL En 2016, le Canada s'est engagé à l'échelle internationale à éliminer l'hépatite virale en tant que menace pour la santé publique d'ici 2030. Même si une grande partie de ce travail incombe aux provinces et aux territoires, le gouvernement fédéral peut prendre cinq mesures clés dès maintenant. 1. Planification : Ajouter des cibles pour mesurer les progrès dans l’élimination des hépatites virales au Plan d’action 2025-2030 pour les ITSS. 2. Dépistage : Mettre à jour les lignes directrices en matière de dépistage de l'hépatite C pour qu'elles soient fondées sur des données probantes, élaborer des lignes directrices fondées sur des données probantes pour le dépistage de l'hépatite B et commencer à offrir des tests de dépistage des ITSS gratuits et volontaires ainsi qu'un lien vers les soins pour tous les immigrants et nouveaux arrivants. 3. Lien entre tests et traitement : Engager les fabricants de tests diagnostiques et confirmation à introduire ces tests au Canada. 4. Prévention : Mettre à jour les lignes directrices du CCNI afin de recommander la vaccination universelle contre l'hépatite B à la naissance. 5. Données : Financer et accroître les efforts visant à recueillir des estimations actualisées de la prévalence de l'hépatite B et C et des cascades de soins spécifiques à la population pour toutes les provinces et territoires canadiens.
