Canadian Security Lifesaver Association
Security and Investigations
A non-profit organization recognizing Canadian security professionals and their contributions to the community.
About us
There are over 140,000 licensed security guards in Canada. These professionals deliver value to the general public on a daily basis. They safeguard our workplaces, residences, and entertainment facilities. It’s a job that must be done; an essential post that must remain filled, even in times of adversity. Their efforts often go beyond the role of ‘policing and enforcement’. There are countless examples of unrecognized incidents in which security personnel, through their direct actions, have saved individuals' lives. Established in 2019, the Canadian Security Lifesaver Association® is a non-profit organization that seeks to recognize these security professionals and raise awareness of their significant contributions to Canadians. Our Objectives 1. Celebrate examples where security professionals’ direct actions resulted in saving an individual’s life and that without such immediate intervention those individuals would most certainly perish. 2. Enhance the public perception around the professionalism of the private security industry. 3. Promote positive discussions around collaboration between Government, Law Enforcement and Private Industry.

Q2 2024 NOMINEES: Ebosetale Abor-Gabriel, Dalvir Singh, Ramandeep Mander & Akhil Jose . Medical emergency in the food court. . In April 2024, the Security team responded to a medical emergency in the food court. . Security Guard Ebosetale Abor-Gabriel was the first to respond, and observed an adult female who had collapsed to the ground. Abor-Gabriel quickly tended to the individual and notified all other units of the situation, while, with the assistance of an unidentified patron, placed the individual in the recovery position after noticing that she was unconscious and struggling to breathe. . Shortly thereafter, Site Supervisor Dalvir Singh and Shift Supervisor Ramandeep Mander arrived on scene to assist with the situation. The patron who was helping stated that she observed the woman convulsing prior to the arrival of security, and suggested that the medical emergency may have been the result of a seizure. . Security Guard Akhil Jose arrived on the scene with medical equipment. While waiting for paramedics to arrive, Shift Supervisor Mander observed that the woman’s vital signs were quickly plummeting while her breathing and heart rate were decreasing. As a result, Site Supervisor Singh readied the AED as the team prepared to initiate CPR. Security Guard Abor-Gabriel observed that the woman’s airway was being obstructed by a clenched jaw, and was able to free her airway, which in turn allowed her breathing rate to increase and she quickly regained consciousness. . The security team then waited with the individual until paramedics arrived and transported her to a nearby hospital. Their quick thinking and communication during the intense situation helped to relieve the woman’s symptoms and prevented the situation from worsening. . Thank you to the whole team! . . . #security #securitymanagement #teamwork #community #securitycareers
