⭐ EXCITING NEWS ⭐ Limagrain Cereals Research Canada (LCRC) is spearheading an effort to introduce the CoAXium® Wheat Production System to Canada’s wheat growing market. This partnership has the potential to fundamentally alter growers’ perceptions of wheat production in the West. LCRC is currently breeding innovative new spring wheat lines that contain the AXigen trait, a patented non-GMO trait developed by Colorado State University that confers tolerance to the Aggressor AX Group 1 herbicide from Albaugh. CANTERRA SEEDS will have the first chance to license the AXigen wheat varieties when registered! Read more about the AXigen trait and how it will offer wheat growers and important new tool in their toolbox here: https://shorturl.at/sGkwr

Last week, our team was set-up at the Ag in Motion in Langham, Saskatchewan! It was a great week with lots of sunshine and great conversations with our farmer customers. Our plot was also the site of the SJHL CANTERRA SEEDS Cup Championship Celebration with a few of the Melfort Mustangs players - what a way to celebrate! Thank you to all who stopped by our plot. Didn't get a chance to attend the show this year? Contact your local Territory Manager to book a local Tailgate Tour to explore how our hybrids are performing in your area. #AginMotion #Saskatchewan #Agriculture #Canola

Last Thursday, our team was graciously hosted at Trans Canada Brewing Co. for a special brewery tour. We were able to learn all about brewing and see our very own CANTERRA SEEDS beer ready to enjoy. We also had the opportunity to taste some beer, right in the brewery. Every summer, we partner with a local brewery in each Prairie province to create a unique, In the Hands of a Pro beer with our very own AAC Prairie Malt (how cool is that?) 🌾 You can enjoy one of these cold ones at our Field Tours this summer. Contact your local Territory Manager to book a tour today! https://lnkd.in/eqF-bbpU #agriculture #beer #fieldtour

This week, our CEO Brent Derkatch was invited to participate in a roundtable discussion co-hosted by Keystone Agricultural Producers and Bank of Canada. A great opportunity to discuss shared challenges and opportunities within our industry. #agriculture #seed #innovation #sustainability
Yesterday, we were pleased to collaborate with the Bank of Canada by co-hosting a roundtable to bring together producers and other businesses in the agricultural value chain. This was an exceptional opportunity for us to talk directly with Governor Tiff Macklem about issues facing our sector, both on-farm and in other parts of the value chain. We had a great conversation about a wide range of issues and topics, including the role of innovation and technology in agriculture, our impact on the Canadian and global economy, labour challenges, impact of interest rates, access to capital, land prices, weather and the impact of climate change, and much more. We were also fortunate to have the team at the University of Manitoba's Bruce D. Campbell Farm & Food Discovery Centre give the Governor a tour of their facility, showing off some of the investments from industry and academia to ensure the public can see and understand what producers do on the farm. Thank you to Governor Macklem and his team for joining Jill Verwey, Jake Ayre and Jenneth Johanson from KAP, David Wiens (Dairy Farmers of Canada | Les Producteurs laitiers du Canada), Kurt Siemens, Guy Baudry (HyLife), Brent Derkatch (CANTERRA SEEDS), Wade Sobkowich (WGEA), and Matt Atkinson (Manitoba Beef Producers) for the dialogue. We all appreciated the Governor's genuine interest in getting to know agriculture, why #agriculturematters, the challenges we face, how policy impacts our sector, and how we benefit the Canadian economy.
