At Carbon Streaming, we're proud to support Mast Reforestation's work at three reforestation projects, including the Sheep Creek project in Montana. If you're interested in learning more about the high-quality carbon removal credits from Mast's reforestation projects, please reach out.
When you purchase Mast’s carbon removal credits, you’re investing in the restoration of resilient forests, and many other co-benefits. For our Sheep Creek reforestation project in Montana, credit purchases allow us to: 🌲 Replant wildfire and climate-adapted trees 🫎 Return essential habitat for vulnerable species 🌰 Establish a native seed source for any future disruptions. Through careful restoration and management, we estimate this project will sequester ~250k tonnes of carbon over the next century. According to a recent article from The Economist, cooking with solid fuels like wood or charcoal leads to nearly 4 million premature deaths annually. This makes it the third-biggest cause of early mortality for women and children, following heart disease and strokes. In Africa, progress has been undermined by its rapid population growth. Between 2010 and 2022 the share of people in sub-Saharan Africa using cleaner cooking fuels increased from 8% to more than 15%, but the total number of people without access to these cleaner methods still rose by 220 million. The death rate from household air pollution, although decreasing globally, remains highest in Africa. Unfortunately, clean-cooking programs in Africa are significantly underfunded. Carbon Streaming Corporation has partnered with UpEnergy on the Community Carbon project to change this narrative. The carbon project is distributing fuel-efficient, clean cookstoves and water filtration devices across Africa. These initiatives aim to reduce emissions, improve health outcomes, and curb deforestation by protecting forests from illegal charcoal and wood harvesting. You can purchase carbon credits to support the Community Carbon project here: https://lnkd.in/gHgDtuSR #CleanEnergy #ClimateAction #CleanCooking #CarbonCredits
