    This past weekend Talon Audio Visual, Inc. provided live stream encoding support to the UC Davis undergraduate commencement ceremonies at the Golden1 Center in Sacramento. It's been a while since I've been at a University of California, Davis commencement, but this year I was happy to work alongside my partners at MetroMedia Productions to support the UC Davis Ceremonies and Special Events and Strategic Communications teams to produce this memorable weekend of events for the class of 2024. With 5 back-to-back events, each with primary an backup stream keys, and additional test and monitoring channels, Epiphan Video's Pearl Nano + Epiphan Edge made managing the streams as easy as a few clicks, and with automatic uploads to Box, sharing the live recordings with the client's social media team was a click away just a few minutes after each ceremony ended. The Golden1 Center has a rock solid fiber internet connection, but I think it's important to always monitor live streams from a different network connection, so I used my Peplink BR2 with a SpeedFusion tunnel bonding T-Mobile and Verizon data plans to monitor the stream from an outside network to ensure the stream looked good to an outside viewer. I also sent a stream to a private player using Castr in order to give the client a monitoring link to view the event, and give me an additional QC Point to monitor from the bonded network. It was great to catch up with some of my old UC Davis colleagues, and help this year's new Aggie Alumni celebrate their success. Go Ags!

    Last weekend we at Badger & Combes were entrusted to deliver four days of live Sky Sports coverage on behalf of our clients Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire Cricket Club and the LancsTV brand. We used our Haivision StreamHUB to send a spare SRT backu feed to their MCR down in Osterley as well as being bale to re-stream multiple feeds elsewhere using our Castr All in One steam functionality. What was unexpected but massively appreciated was a look around our setup by England legend Nasser Hussain who was able to chat why we do what we do.
