😁 Did you know that October 29th is national cat day? I couldn't let the day go by without celebrating! I would like to do a special shout out to Aphrodite who keeps me company in my office and to Sushi who we sadly had to say goodbye to last year. If you are looking for a furry companion make sure to check out your local shelters to adopt your next pet! #nationalcatday hashtag #adopt😁 Did you know that October 29th is national cat day? 💡 Tip Tuesday - what other people think of you is none of your business! This lesson is shared in the book The Four Agreements by Don Miguel. It's been around for a long time, but the lessons are timeless. https://lnkd.in/gcjSr53E This has been a huge growth year for me. I sometimes find myself trying to figure out what other people are thinking about me. It's hard sometimes to understand why other people do the things they do but the truth is we can only control how we react to the situation. As a people pleaser and someone that genuinely wants to be 'liked' this is a hard lesson for me but it's one that I'm working on. Have you read the book? #thefouragreements #growthmindset

🙌 Thriving Thursday - harnessing the power of collaboration! What a fantastic day! I had some amazing conversations with candidates, and colleagues that I collaborate with in the The Collective by CRNG. I also spoke with someone that is going to start her own recruitment company based in Ontario. I was happy to be of service and provide some insights into my experience and some tips that she can hopefully take into her business. It will be a year since I started Cat & Mouse Recruitment in December. I can't believe how fast the year has gone by. I'm eternally grateful to everyone that has supported me on this journey and for all the amazing recruiters in my network that have supported me. Never underestimate the power of collaboration. Together we can do so much more! #collaboration #lifteachotherup #recruitersrock

😶 Tip Tuesday - When you hit a wall on your search! Fellow recruiters, TA professionals, and hiring managers, we've all been there. You feel like you have looked everywhere for a specific candidate and hit a wall. But what next? - Review the job description - are there 'must haves' that could be 'nice to haves'? Flexibility can open up the candidate pool. - Check if the salary offered is competitive. Think of creative ways to attract candidates beyond salary like vacation, sign-on bonus, benefits, and perks. - Ask for referrals both inside and outside your organization. - Proactively recruit to build a pipeline of qualified candidates. - Consider where you are looking for candidates. Avoid just 'posting' and 'praying.' If you're stuck and need help, don't hesitate to reach out! I'm providing a complimentary one-hour consultation to discuss your hiring challenges. #thinkoutsidethejobdescription #callme

💡 Tip Tuesday - Jump and the net will be there! Making life-changing decisions can be daunting, but sometimes taking that leap of faith is exactly what's needed. When my family and I relocated to the Okanagan 3.5 years ago, many doubted our choice. It wasn't the most financially sound decision, and leaving behind our life in Calgary was tough. Despite the uncertainties and fears, we took the plunge, and it's been the best decision we've made. While our journey hasn't been all smooth sailing, embracing challenges has been rewarding. Pursuing our BHAG (BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOAL) was a risk, but it led us to our best life. Remember, it's okay to be scared; the key is to forge ahead despite the fear. As they say, "pick your hard." Don't let fear hold you back from your dreams. What's stopping you from reaching your full potential and living the life you desire? #BHAG #bescaredanddoitanyway
