UBC Food and Beverage Innovation Center (FBIC) Tour As Dean (for five more weeks) Dr Rickey Yada commented, the UBC innovation center has been in the works for a minute (and then some!). It was a pleasure hearing about the pilot plant and product development center amongst tenured food professionals and consultants. We have needed a facility like this in BC for well over 25+ years to support startups and small scale processors needing a facility to develop products, conduct research, and test out concepts. Thank you to Lavina Gully and Jamil Karim from the Canadian Food Innovation Network for coordinating and organizing this second tour (the first one filled up in minutes!), and to Dr Anubhav Pratap-Singh and Micky for hosting the tours!
