A world’s first in Denmark: farmers will have to pay for their animal greenhouse gas emissions. More specifically on their enteric gasses, emitting methane gas, to help with the country’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. What does it mean for farmers? They will now have to find ways to reduce their animals' carbon footprint. At Circulus Agtech, we believe that we have a solution that could help offset CO2 equivalent gasses, by reducing the pollution from manure management and fertilizer usage. What will be the next country to follow this new type of regulation on farmers? https://lnkd.in/gm7TPnqn

/////////// Circulus Agtech is very proud to be among the 9 companies selected by the AgriTechnologies program of the Quebec Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Energy, to pursue the development of various fertilizer recipes derived from organic waste. The $280,614 in funding will enable us to explore new sources of organic waste to replace synthetic fertilizers, which are one of the biggest sources of pollution in modern agriculture. #sustainableagriculture #circulareconomy #fertilizer #startup #agriculture #organicwaste #agriculturedurable #economiecirculaire https://lnkd.in/gVifxbCA

Key takeaways from the recent COP 28 in Dubai for the agriculture segment: Food waste and manure management are some of the main culprits for greenhouse gas emissions. Biodigester that produces biogas were mentioned as a solution to capture emission: ‘’ Wealthier countries should support farmers in implementing technology like biodigesters that capture manure emissions for energy production, (…), Tauzel said.’’ At Circulus Agtech, we go even a step further in GHG reduction by not producing natural gas with our bioreactor, but producing instead a sustainable NPK fertilizer to replace the problematic, fossil energy dependent, synthetic Nitrogen fertilizers. We believe that our solution can fix two large agricultural problems at once, by tackling both the organic waste/manure management challenges and the unsustainable fertilizer industry with the Circulus bioreactor technology.
