Today, Mayor Olivia Chow announced that we’re investing in refreshing 30 community recreation centres by the end of 2025 and adding FREE public Wi-Fi at all 126 City-operated centres across Toronto by the end of the year. Revitalizing and modernizing these spaces gives people a greater sense of belonging and experience at these centres. We’re back on track to creating welcoming public places by: ✅ updating interior elements ✅ repairing and repainting walls, ceilings and structural features ✅ adding modern and welcoming lobby furniture ✅ putting in charging stations and access to FREE public Wi-Fi at 126 Community Recreation Centres by the end of this year. All this work will breathe new life into indoor and outdoor public spaces. Get more details at: https://lnkd.in/gz97AKjt

The City is working to improve access and reduce barriers to services and programs for Two-Spirit, trans, and non-binary (2STNB) youth through the creation of a new Action Plan. The Action Plan builds on the City’s Toronto Youth Equity Strategy, which identified key issues faced by youth, including gender-based violence experienced by gender-diverse youth. As part of the Action Plan, we’re conducting paid, virtual focus groups for Two-Spirit, trans, and non-binary (2STNB) youth where they can share their unique perspectives, experiences and ideas to help inform the City’s Action Plan. The deadline to register in the focus groups is August 15. Get more details at: https://lnkd.in/g5vxcCNH
