We have completed a comprehensive review and update of the current Land Use Bylaw 05-2016 and are preparing to recommend approval of an updated Land Use Bylaw to City Council. The proposed Land Use Bylaw will update the existing Land Use Districts, the permitted and discretionary uses in each district and the regulatory environment guiding development in the City. This review and update to the Land Use Bylaw has been completed by the Planning Department at the direction of City Council. Throughout this process, the City engaged with the community and took into consideration the input received from the public to create a Lloydminster specific bylaw. The intent is to simplify development in the city by reducing red tape, allowing for a broader range of uses in each district, simplifying the language used throughout the document to facilitate easy use and interpretation, consolidate many highly specific districts to fewer more flexible districts and the inclusion of items not considered in Land Use Bylaw 05-2016. The proposed bylaw was presented to City Council on August 12 during the Governance and Priorities meeting following multiple public engagement periods. Planning is collecting a final round of comments to inform the Land Use Bylaw and make any final changes to the document prior to the Land Use Bylaw being recommended to City Council for approval. Comments are being collected until the end of day on September 5, 2024. You can leave a comment by emailing planning@lloydminster.ca or by calling the Planning Department at 780-874-3700. If you would prefer to meet with a member of the project team to discuss questions or concerns, please contact the above at your earliest convenience To view the draft Land Use Bylaw, learn more about the Land Use Bylaw and to view engagement reports, visit https://lnkd.in/gyhMFazF
