  • HIRING!! Accounts Payable Clerk Cobalt Construction Inc. is seeking to add an additional full time, year-round Accounts Payable Clerk to our team here at our main office in Whitehorse. This position reports directly to the Controller and works alongside other Accounting Clerks, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Clerk and Reception. Responsibilities ·       Printing and coding of all invoices to the appropriate G/L accounts. Detailed data entry. This position works directly with the Owners, Finance Manager, Office Manager, Project Administrators, and the shop Forman to ensure accurate job costing of invoices. ·       Completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. ·       Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances and monthly statements from suppliers. Maintain balance integrity. ·       Ensure credit memos are issued when required as well as working diligently with all suppliers to monitor credit limits. ·       Maintaining historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques by saving documents properly in appropriate files. ·       Assisting the finance managers with equipment or product purchases tracking assets and accounts for acquisition. ·       Maintaining all data that is required for year end working paper files. ·       Confirming subcontractor billed working hours are correct and all subcontractors are in compliance with their WCB and Insurance documents. ·       Maintain a rapport with all suppliers by keeping an open dialog of communication to ensure all matters are dealt with. ·       Two to three years of experience in an Accounts Payable role. Experience with Sage Software is a bonus but not required ·       Must have an excellent knowledge of all accounting principles and policies. ·       Strong attention to detail ·       Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. There is with a high volume of work with deadlines and interruptions in a fast-paced environment. ·       Organized ·       Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy ·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills ·       Independent and team oriented ·       Maintains confidentiality Requirements and skills ·       Two to three years of experience in an Accounts Payable role.   • Cobalt Construction is seeking an Industrial Paint Technician / Motor Vehicle finisher This project is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to be a part of Yukon history! Cobalt’s train refurbishment crew is at it again, breathing life and shine back into another set of Whitepass and Yukon Route’s historic train cars We are looking for the help of talented and experienced painters to apply body filler using proper techniques with urethane paint. Sand blast experience is an asset but not a requirement. The ideal candidate will have: ·       3 or more years experience refurbishing vehicles or equipment ·       A keen attention to detail ·       Safety conscious mind set ·       Able to work independently and on a team This work will run until all train cars are complete.   • Cobalt Construction is seeking a full time Parts Person to add to our growing team. This position is based in Whitehorse, Yukon at the main shop. Applicants must be highly organized, able to work with minimal to no supervision in a fast-paced environment/ have a strong work ethic and good communication skills. The successful applicant will be joining a strong, knowledgeable and dynamic mechanical team of both shop and field mechanics and service crews scattered around the North. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of Caterpillar, Hitatchi, Volvo heavy equipment and Kenworth trucks. Mechanical knowledge is certainly considered an asset. The successful applicant will be able to think outside of the box and work with tight deadlines. They must be physically fit able to lift 40 – 60 lbs as needed. Duties will include pricing and ordering various parts, running errands within Whitehorse, and managing the shipping/ receiving of parts to and from the shop and various job sites. Computer skills and good housekeeping is required. Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract required.   • Cobalt Construction Inc is looking to add experienced and enthusiastic P.Eng, EIT or CETs with Project Coordination experience to our family. Full-time year-round positions with competitive wages are available to those who qualify. Project Coordinators must be able to work independently and collaboratively with the head office team to maintain communication with clients and ensure projects are finished to their complete satisfaction. You will be working within a larger project team as well as closely with in-field teams. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: ·       Involvement in entire job cycle including estimating, bidding, scheduling, budget projection ·       Create/maintain project schedules and direct project works under Project Managers for several projects ·       Assist project managers with administrative processes ·       Price and source materials, supplies and sub-contractors ·       Through project duration manage Sub-contractors, materials, supply chains, labour and equipment, production targets, coordination of testing and inspections, QA/QC ·       Prepare Contracts, Invoices, Traffic Management Plans, Environmental Management Plans, WCB pre-project assessments, approve payments etc. ·       Project costing analysis; Manage deliverables and capture change directives with immediate action all the while communicating effectively with all stakeholders involved ·       Ensure documentation is maintained throughout project cycle ·       Interpret project plans to ensure project development is meeting spec ·       Survey experience is an asset Ideal Candidate Qualities ·       Will be extremely detail oriented while maintaining the big picture for overall company operations ·       Will be able to prioritize and self-direct work flow from several ongoing projects ·       Must have in-depth experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Programs and Outlook ·       Excellent written and oral communication skills ·       Will be responsible, reliable, and fully committed to the team ·       Must be able to pass Pre-Employment Health Screening and enforce drug/alcohol free work sites Required Credentials and Skills To Be Included In Resume ·       P.ENG, EIT or CET designation ·       Extensive hands-on experience in both infrastructure and mining projects.     Cobalt Construction Inc is seeking a full-time, year-round Payroll Administrator to join our team here in Whitehorse, Yukon. Ideal candidates will be able and willing to assist and fill in for any of the accounting roles as needed but primary duties will revolve around Payroll. Applicants must be able to demonstrate past payroll experience. Holding certificates in Payroll Administration is beneficial though relevant work experience will also be considered. This position reports to the Office Manager and Financial Controller and will work alongside the Accounts Payable Team in our main office building. Reception will assist with collecting and sorting time cards. This role will also require strong communication with Site Superintendents at various sites around the Yukon to ensure time sheets are received and all hours recorded are accurate.
