Dans l'ensemble de notre réseau, nous nous sommes engagés à éliminer les obstacles systémiques auxquels sont confrontés les étudiants autochtones et à intégrer le savoir autochtone dans nos programmes d'études, afin de favoriser des environnements d'apprentissage plus inclusifs. Notre protocole sur l'éducation des Autochtones est au cœur de cet effort. Aujourd'hui, lors du #CNEA2024, nous avons fièrement célébré le 10e anniversaire du protocole et une décennie d'impact significatif. Grâce à une discussion ouverte, nous avons réfléchi à nos progrès, partagé nos expériences et exploré les possibilités de renouveler le protocole pour un impact durable et pour faire avancer la réconciliation. Reconciliation demands action. Across our network, we are committed to removing systemic barriers for Indigenous students and integrating Indigenous Knowledge into our curricula, fostering more inclusive learning environments. Central to this effort is our Indigenous Education Protocol. Today at #NIES2024, we proudly celebrated the protocol’s 10th anniversary and a decade of meaningful impact. Through an open discussion, we reflected on our progress, shared experiences, and explored opportunities to renew the protocol for lasting impact and to further advance reconciliation. Our president and CEO, Marketa Evans, has written a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,  urging action on IRCC’s new rules that leave essential college programs off the PGWP eligibility list. These omissions will negatively impact Ontario communities, hitting critical sectors like child care and health care that rely on skilled college grads to support high employer demand.
