Helping Canadian Christians to understand their place in God’s story, and to serve Christ with clarity and purpose.

About us

Colson Fellows Canada equips Canadian Christians with a robust Christian worldview so they can thoughtfully engage with post-Christian culture, inspire reflection in others, and work effectively toward re-shaping the world in the light of God’s kingdom. Colson Fellows Canada is comprised of regional cohorts which facilitate local participation in the prestigious international Colson Fellows Program. The Colson Fellows Program represents an opportunity for Canadian Christ Followers to learn from leading global thinkers, scholars and speakers on relevant cultural and worldview topics and to formulate a committed Biblical response to current events in Canada. We seek to grow the Colson Fellows Program as a means to engage the Church in Canada and spur on Canadian Christians to impact our country (and the world) for Christ. The regional cohorts operate across Canada under the supervision of Canadian commissioned Colson Fellows and meet virtually or in person once a month. We have regional cohorts operating in the following locations: Toronto, ON Fraser Valley, BC Guests are always welcome so please contact us to learn more! Email: colsonfellowscanada@gmail.com

It's happening again! Colson Fellows will be at the Apologetics Canada 2024 conference on Nov 8 & 9, 2024 in Burlington, Ontario! Can I trust the bible? Do we know if it's been changed or altered by kings or bishops? Do we have the original manuscripts? Is the bible rooted in historical truth (rather than myth or legend)? Spoiler alert! The answer to all these questions is . . . YES! And this is the topic of this year's conference in Burlington. Come and see the persuasive historical evidence (yes, it does exist!) regarding the accuracy and reliability of the worlds most popular book. And while you're there, come say "hi" to your friendly, neighborhood Colson Fellow :D After we come to trust the bible, then we need to ask, "what does it say about reality, the world and how we should live our lives?" . . . and that's where we can help. The Colson Program is design to teach all the basics about a Christian worldview from the ground up. There so much to learn, come do it with a supportive, passionate, and interesting group of fellow learners and commissioned Colson Fellows. Learn more below! Only 20% of Canadians are confident the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth was an actual, historical event according to a recent study published by Angus Reid and Cardus in March 2024 (link below). Unsurprisingly, the rate is higher for Evangelical Christians (70%) but not great given this is the definitive basis for the faith (without which Paul says our faith is in vain, 1 Cor.15:14). In a recent podcast (link below), Dr. William Lane Craig provides a compelling overview of the strong historical evidence, widely accepted by nearly all critical New Testament and historical scholars including (but not limited to): 1. Early dating—to within 5 years of Christ's death—of the first Christian creed plainly stating Christ's resurrection and appearance to hundreds of witnesses (including all the disciples and Paul) 2. The unexpected and universal belief of the disciples in their own first-hand witness to Christ’s resurrection—a belief they held strongly enough to be tortured and killed for (who would die for something they KNOW to be false?) 3. The highly unlikely, radical conversion AND subsequent martyrdom of Jesus SKEPTICS, Saul the Pharisee (later Paul the Apostle) and Jesus’ own brother James Check out the full lecture to hear the many other compelling arguments and evidence supporting the resurrection accounts. Are there good reasons to take the Bible seriously? Can we have confidence that it hasn't been altered, adapted, influenced, and edited since its last book was penned nearly two thousand years ago? What are the implications if the Bible's claims are true? Join our friends at Apologetics Canada for their 2024 conference on the reliability of scripture in Abbotsford, BC. The purpose of education used to be the pursuit of virtue and the development of morally capable citizens. Education that is hyper-focused on performance does the opposite, treating children more like robots in need of programming than persons in need of formation.

Schools in China are piloting Artificial Intelligence and it is crazy 😧 These devices measure each student's level of concentration and generate a dashboard for teachers and parents. Classrooms have robots that analyze students' reactions and engagement levels. Certainly, it is much more different than our childhood. Any thoughts? Mark Twain famously said that “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does often rhyme.” . . . In fact, the history of Israel and the wider story of the millennia-long persecution of Jews can feel somewhat like a broken record. No matter the era, no matter the region, no matter the culture, Jacob’s children find themselves in the crosshairs of their neighbors’ hatred. https://lnkd.in/g3njjd8W https://lnkd.in/gg4JCUXw
