Concerned Friends' Board of Directors Supports Challenge to Bill 7 We stand with the Ontario Health Coalition and the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly in their legal challenge to Bill 7, which forces older adults into long-term care homes not of their choosing. This bill undermines informed consent and weakens the support systems of older adults. Read our full position below on why we believe Bill 7 promotes ageism and ableism, and what needs to change. #Bill7 #SeniorRights #InformedConsent #LongTermCareOntario #ConcernedFriends

About us
Concerned Friends is a registered charity committed to advancing the health and well-being and enriching the experiences of those living in long term care. Every year our volunteers assist hundreds of families looking for help in choosing a long-term care home, or in resolving a problem within a home. We answer calls from across Ontario on our toll-free line. Our website has lots of helpful information about how the system works. We bring problems to the attention of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, and we partner with other organizations toward improving the lives of all long-term care residents. Since 1980 our work has been supported entirely by memberships and donations. If you would like to become a member, and receive our quarterly newsletter, sign up at our website.
