Our platform prompts your support network to step in and take action. As caregivers ourselves, we know how hard it is to ask for help, so Consoul tells your care circle what to do, making sure you don’t have to do everything yourself. What sets us apart? We’re not just another caregiving app. Built from personal caregiving experience, Consoul ensures caregivers have the time to focus on their well-being. By automating tasks and providing personalized wellness resources, we help caregivers take time for mindfulness, fitness, or simply recharging. Why It Matters: Caregiving often impacts women balancing careers and family care, with over 600 million women worldwide stepping away from their jobs due to caregiving responsibilities—costing the global economy $9 trillion in lost GDP.     We were honoured to collaborate with #ShoppersDigital and the #Loblaws Family and Caregiver Employee Resources group to address caregiver challenges head-on today. Together, we explored strategies and resources to support working caregivers in balancing caregiving, career, and mental health. Caregiver burnout silently impacts 1 in 4 employees—many of whom are part of the sandwich generation, balancing care for both children and aging parents while managing their careers. It’s inspiring to see forward-thinking organizations like these prioritize their employees' well-being, recognizing that caregiving responsibilities don’t stop when the workday starts. With the support from CGI’s Women in Tech grant, we’re focused on creating a platform that’s scalable, secure, and truly designed to grow with the needs of caregivers. One of our biggest decisions was embracing serverless architecture, which allows us to scale seamlessly as our community grows. Whether it’s integrating future security solutions or ensuring a responsive user experience, we’re constantly thinking about how to build a platform that truly supports the people who give so much to others. The growth happens whether we win or not. We are incredibly proud of the winners who are tackling BIG global problems. 🥇 Grand prize: Infinite Harvest Technologies is making the environment more sustainable. 🥈 Second place: Yellowbird Diagnostics, Inc. is pushing the boundaries of early cancer detection. 🥉 Third place: Maman Biomedical is addressing women’s health through menopause. 🏆 People’s Choice: DOUBL is revolutionizing how bras are designed for women and we are FAN GIRLS!     OK, ConSoul storytime! 📙 Today is a big day for our team. Six years ago, life threw us into a tailspin of heartbreak, starting with the loss of my dad and ending with the passing of Stef’s 36-year-old husband to colon cancer. Along the way, we watched our neighbour pass from cancer, leaving behind two young girls and a wife. We saw my grandmother’s dementia progress to the point where she no longer remembers her children or grandchild. This isn’t meant to be a sob story, but how could these events not change the direction of our path? As working caregivers, we learned that people genuinely mean well, but most don’t really know how to support the one doing the heavy lifting—caring for someone who's sick, aging, or somewhere in between. The hardest part? You’re constantly told to “take time for yourself,” but how? When? Between navigating a complex healthcare system and managing all the care tasks, there’s just no time. And let’s be honest, workplaces struggle to give caregivers the flexibility they need without things falling apart. We’ve been challenged before—people saying, “There are already solutions on the market” Sure, there are tools, and they are great. But more often than not, they add to the load—tracking medications, organizing calendars, scheduling appointments. It becomes another full-time job. So, we asked ourselves, what if we could automate those tasks? What if we could build a system that delegates them to the well-meaning friends and family who want to help but don’t know how? Could that finally give caregivers the space to check in on themselves? So, we built it. And yes, it has AI. No, it’s not a chatbot but yes, we did give it a name 🤣 And tonight, we’re on stage pitching our solution. It’s surreal to think we started by teaching ourselves low-code and showing our platform to anyone who’d give us five minutes. And here we are today, presenting alongside nine other organizations with deep, meaningful missions. The solution has changed since we first started developing it—and it will continue to evolve—but our mission remains the same: if the caregiver burns out, the whole system falls apart. So, let’s find ways to make caregiving visible and supported, not just something you’re expected to do without help. Because caregiving isn’t a solo act—it takes a community. And we're here to ensure caregivers finally feel that support. Thank you to everyone who believes in what we are doing and supported us along the way!
