This year, we’re excited to kick off the tour with our first ever stop in Atlantic Canada, in Saint John, N.B., on Nov. 21. CPKC is honoured to receive the Project of the Year award from the Laredo Economic Development Corporation for our international railway bridge expansion project, which is now nearing completion. On behalf of the entire project team, Executive Advisor Warren Erdman and Director of U.S. Government Affairs Kyle Morgan accepted the award at last week’s ceremony. The expansion project is adding a second span to the international railroad bridge linking Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

We share an unwavering commitment to safety across every level at CPKC. Last week, our COO Mark Redd kicked off our latest network-wide safety walkabout by emphasizing our dedication to making sure every railroader returns Home Safe from work each day. These walkabouts reinforce our commitment to safety and how we must always work together to maintain workplace safety.

Speaking of time, did you know that Canadian and U.S. railroads created the first time zones in 1883?  Before that there were more than 144 local times in North America.

CPKC’s SVP Operations Eastern Region Nicholas Walker joined WisDOT Deputy Secretary Scott Lawry, FRA Administrator Amit Bose and Amtrak President Roger Harris in Milwaukee this week for the announcement of a $72.8 million federal CRISI grant to improve passenger rail service in Wisconsin with new infrastructure in and around CPKC’s Muskego Yard near downtown.
