Great Relationships Don't Just Happen, We Create Them.

About us

About Us: Great relationships don’t just happen. We create them. And a growing body of research (cited in Forbes and the Harvard Business Review, among others) illuminates how our connections in the workplace significantly impact our mental and physical health and well-being. But there’s rarely a company onboarding on ‘How to Be a Good Person and Get Along With Your Boss & Coworkers.’ That’s where we come in. What We Do: Create the Love is a platform to guide you through designing the life and love you’ve longed for — whether that’s climbing the corporate ladder, excelling as an entrepreneur, or cultivating better personal relationships within your company, family and community. Launched by Human Connection Specialist Mark Groves, CTL offers tools and methodologies for improving communication through social media, online articles and resources, live webinars, and self-paced courses. If you’re ready to smash through old barriers, let go of unhealthy habits (from relationships, to booze, to overworking, to food), establish clear boundaries, and step into the wholeness that fuels the love, relationships, passions and dreams you desire, then this is a space for you. Who Mark Is: Mark Groves is a Human Connection Specialist whose own rock bottom -- after the end of a relationship -- prompted him to train and immerse himself in the science of positive psychology (AKA the science of how to have an awesome life and feel awesome-r). I publish weekly (ish) on www.CreateTheLove.com and have a growing community on my Instagram (@createthelove) where I post daily inspiration in the areas of motivation, relationships and dating. I'm in love with the science and psychology what makes great relationships work. It's up to us to consistently show up in the same way we wish of others, and I strive to help people do just that. Inquire about having me come speak to your company, school, or to work with me one on one (or two if you're a couple... or three if... you get it).

In a divided ideological landscape where each “side” promises group membership, it almost certainly comes at the cost of the ability to criticize the movement that offers us belonging. What I notice is that large topics like c*vid, climate, vacc*nes, politics, wars… the main held narrative pushed by media outlets preaches righteously that holding *this* belief is what “good” people do. There’s a lot of preaching of openness and love, yet any criticism of that perspective is met with shame, cancelling, and the attempt to exile the dissenting member. This is not how a community acts. This is how a cult behaves. What ends up happening is that we have two ideological extremes that present as if they are the only choices… but they’re not. When we remain silent about our perspectives, we cancel nuance. We delete the bridge that always needs to exist between extremes. And when we stop challenging aggressively protected perspectives, dumb ideas proliferate. I say all of this because silence creates the illusion that we have no other choice and that we must be crazy because we think we’re the only one thinking what we’re thinking (insert anxiety!). However, using our voice lowers the perceived social risk for others to raise their voice too. Essentially, you being courageous and speaking up makes other people courageous too. The greatest act of rebellion begins with one brave being willing to lose everything to gain themselves.
