Crisis Communications Conference

There is an increasing expectation for organizations to respond quickly and in real-time during a crisis. Is your organization crisis-ready? In an emergency, communication is the key. The time to prepare for a crisis is before it happens. We believe in training with community partners, first responders and essential services so communities get quick, comprehensive and clear information and leadership through a crisis or emergency. Now in its third year, we offer crisis communications experts on a wide range of communications issues at cost. In the past, we have provided case studies of the Boston Marathon bombing, Calgary floods, Cenotaph shooting in Ottawa and the Fort McMurray Fires. We have had international crisis communications speaker Melissa Agnes, The Warning Project Director John Rainford and Director of Communications for Emergency Preparedness for the Province of British Columbia, Julianne McCaffrey. Our 2018 conference is April 25 and 26 at the Shaw Centre. Our keynote speaker is Standford University educator and coach of Strategic Communication, Matt Abrahams, along with presentations by RCMP Director of Strategic Communications Jolene Bradley and media training consultants in leadership communications, Barry McLoughlin and Laura Peck. As well, there will be a case study of the 2016 Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting with experts from police, hospital and city services.
