Today, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

We were honoured to be recognized last night at the Turning the Tide Marine Industry Awards. Thank you to all who have supported our journey and congratulations to each award recipient.

As part of our Community Spotlight presented by Crosbie, meet Janice Drover, the Medical Services Lead for the 2025 Canada Games! Fresh off her experience with Team Canada’s Health Services team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Janice is bringing her passion and expertise to the Games next summer. In Paris, she worked closely with athletes from sports like badminton, table tennis, weightlifting, and many more, gaining invaluable experience to support our athletes right here in Newfoundland. Janice says she was inspired by the incredible resilience of Canada’s athletes in Paris and can’t wait to witness that same drive and determination at the 2025 Canada Games. Her advice for volunteers? Find a balance between working hard and soaking in the fun of the Games and the vibrant city around you. Oh, and treat yourself to something small—her daily Paris ritual was a latte and chocolate baguette! We’re thrilled to have volunteers like Janice bring passion and dedication to athletes, sport and the Games. // Dans le cadre de notre série « Fenêtre sur la communauté » présentée par Crosbie, rencontrez Janice Drover, responsable des services médicaux pour les Jeux du Canada de 2025 ! Forte de son expérience au sein de l'équipe des services de santé d'Équipe Canada aux Jeux olympiques de 2024 à Paris, Janice apportera sa passion et son expertise aux Jeux l'été prochain. À Paris, elle a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec des athlètes de sports tels que le badminton, le tennis de table, l'haltérophilie et bien d'autres, acquérant ainsi une expérience inestimable pour soutenir nos athlètes ici à Terre-Neuve. Janice dit avoir été inspirée par l'incroyable résilience des athlètes canadien à Paris et a hâte d'être témoin de ce même dynamisme et de cette même détermination aux 2025. Son conseil aux bénévoles ? Trouvez un équilibre entre le travail et le plaisir des Jeux et de la ville vibrante qui vous entoure. Oh, et offrez-vous un petit plaisir - son rituel quotidien à Paris était un café au lait et une baguette au chocolat ! Nous sommes ravis que des bénévoles comme Janice apportent leur passion et leur dévouement aux athlètes, au sport et aux Jeux.
