An exciting new journal club session is just around the corner! Join our presenters Marjorie Rempel Friesen and Vivian KT Lee as they review the fundamental 5-step systematic approach to answering drug information requests that apply to all pharmacists in their day-to-day practice. This approach will be applied using a case study of the safety of SC diphenhydramine. In addition to reviewing how to formulate a well-built question and conduct an efficient search, developing and communicating a well synthesized and contextualized response will be discussed. Black Pharmacy Professionals of Canada is a non-profit organization dedicated to leading excellence in practice among Black Pharmacy Professionals and promoting equity for both professionals and patients. On Friday evening, the University of Ottawa School of Pharmaceutical Sciences had their “Cérémonie de la blouse blanche” (White Coat Ceremony) to welcome the new PharmD students! This is the program’s second year since it was launched last year, the only Canadian university pharmacy program delivered in French outside of Quebec! CSHP OB President Elect - Vision Portfolio, Ariane Blanc, was invited to speak at the “Cérémonie” about the CSHP mission and values, the up coming change of our Association name that will be voted at the Board meeting on October 6th, the inspiring and diverse role of pharmacists working in pharmacy health-systems, the up coming exponential opportunities for the pharmacy profession with the Provincial investment and the important role the pharmacy students and future pharmacists will have to play for the promotion of health and care of the Ontarian population. We wish a warm welcome to all the Pharm D students at the University of Ottawa starting their professional journey this autumn!
