Long term commitment is important. There are lots of places that are in the headlines for a moment, and then they fall out of them. Haiti, tragically, has taken its place in the news for lots of reasons over the years. But one of the real positive changes there has been what's happening with the students who have come through Artists for Peace and Justice school. I've been a part of APJ for over 16 years, and in that time, we've raised over 33 million dollars and put 31,000 kids through school. That academy makes a real impact, and in large part is because of what happens every year at that organization’s gala in Toronto during TIFF. We have had so many wonderful sponsors over the years and the generosity of people, not just the ones who donate, but also those who participate. This year, was no exception Jane goodall, Ben Harper, Jaebets Gilles, Rick Mercer, Nelly Furtado, Kardinal Offishal, Fefe Dobson, Charlotte Day Wilson, Paul BeauBrun, Natasha Koifman and her NKPR team came together for a magical night. And big thanks to Air Canada, 2Fifteen by DBS, Audi Canada and Liberty Entertainment Group.

Since childhood, tower cranes have always fascinated me, representing the awe-inspiring process of building magnificent structures. Now, after 20 years in the design and construction of high-rises, I still find that same excitement in every project. In this drone shot, I tried to capture the intricate process of removing the tower crane on one of our projects, Bella Squar by Tucker HiRise, which played a critical role in pushing this skyscraper to the sky. Capturing this moment from above is a reminder of the effort and innovation that go into making these massive structures a reality. Tucker Hi-Rise Construction Inc. #ProgressUpdate At Bela Square, we’ve completed the precast installation on the high-rise, achieved final occupancy in the mid-rise units, and masonry work is in full swing. Suite finishes are also progressing up the tower, bringing us closer to completion. DBS #TuckerHiRise #ThinkDifferent #TorontoConstruction #Mixdevelopment #DowntownToronto #HighriseExperts

DBS ladies had an inspiring day at this year’s Women in Rental Housing Luncheon at the Old Mill. It was an honor to be in a room full of women who are driving change in their communities. The opportunity to learn, network, and share experiences was invaluable, helping to strengthen the relationships that contribute to our collective success, and well-being.

A heartfelt thank you to The Globe and Mail 🤍📰 for acknowledging the incredible work we’re doing at Artists for Peace! This journey, while challenging, has been deeply meaningful for me and NKPR When I first learned about the situation in Haiti, my heart broke—I knew we had to act. Though we couldn’t erase the devastation of poverty or the 2010 earthquake, we’ve come together to give the children of Port-au-Prince a brighter future through education. From the start of #APJ, we never imagined the profound impact we’d make. 31,000 STUDENTS! That’s how many children have benefited from our school. $35 MILLION! That’s what we’ve raised to support education and create opportunities—and we’re just getting started. This year, we aim even higher as we prepare for our annual APJ Gala on September 8th at The Imperial Toronto. Together with the entire APJ board, we’ll host an intimate evening to further our mission - with some really incredible performances and surprises 😉 My hope, now and always, is that we all recognize the role we play in shaping the future of this beautiful planet. For me and NKPR, serving our world isn’t just important—it’s essential. Thank you to our amazing board and long time partners Rose Mantella, George Stroumboulopoulos, Suzanne Boyd, Sholeh Alemi Fabbri, Kardinal Offishall, Joanne Bull, Kate Daniels 🖤 as well as our 2024 sponsors Air Canada, 2 Fifteen Living by DBS, Audi Canada, BREITLING, Wise Family Foundation, Perigon & Martha Franco
