Back in the saddle 🐎! But this time with a new name 😎 Lynette Tremblay and Sheri Doyle headed to PlanIt Sound this week to record Season TWO of our podcast! We debuted a year ago with the Demythifying Brand podcast to connect on the importance of building personal brand and busting outdated brand myths. Since then, we've launched Stay Spicy Inc., delivered a number of workshops, launched a merchandise line, and held events in Edmonton and Calgary. So, we are changing the name of our podcast to the Stay Spicy podcast so we can explore more topics and conversations that matter. Follow us at Stay Spicy Inc.! We'll be back on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and more this fall with new guests and conversations on how you can be your most courageous, authentic, and spicy selves. This season we are talking about all things leadership: bossholes, culture killers, communication, leadership styles, and more! Thanks for your support! Check out more at stayspicy.ca

About us
It's time to bust those brand myths! We're Lynette and Sheri (some call us Larry!) and we've spent a lot of time building other people's brands. Now it's time to help you build yours. Most people think their work and talent will speak for itself—it won’t. Before you self-promote, you need to think about how you want to show up in the world and how to leverage your story, talents, and work to create new opportunities and connections. That's where we come in. Follow us and join our community for resources, podcast episodes and more on how you can build your personal brand.

🛑 STOP telling people they have imposter syndrome. Instead, build teams and workplaces where diverse people can flourish. Imposter syndrome gets thrown around a lot but it doesn't take into account the experiences and systems that work hard to make people feel small. Instead of diagnosing people with a syndrome and writing them off, why not take action and create space so everyone can succeed equally? Create systems to give people a voice. Heck, even hand them a microphone. 🎧 Hear more on episode 5: https://lnkd.in/g_Pq3JAu ☕ Express yourself: https://lnkd.in/gBJSARkG

We've been so lucky to interview amazing women on our podcast journey. Here are a few things we learned (and discussed) along the way: ✅Your brand is SO much more than your job ✅Introverts are incredible leaders ✅You are your ultimate super power ✅Feedback is data, not a decision (say it again!) ✅A "brag book" or "brag folder" is a great way to track accomplishments ✅Invest in yourself ✅Know the difference between post-it people and the crabs ✅Being unapologetic is a good use of your time ✅Delete your asterix * ✅Networking isn't the same for everyone and that's ok ✅Set aside some time to build your online profile ✅Take the Johari Window Exercise ✅Remember who you were before people got in your head ✅You got this 🎧 https://lnkd.in/gwSC2U8N

When we navigate a professional loss (shutting down a business, losing or leaving a job), there can be a whirlwind of shame and pressure associated with it. There’s a lot of talk about change management for organizations, but what about your own personal change management? When something rocks your world, how do you react? Some put their head in the sand, play an avoidance game, or fight hard to maintain the life or the person they used to be. In episode 10 and 11 of Demythifying Brand, we suggest a different approach as we dish on the role of personal brand in life changes: https://lnkd.in/gTbKbxUs

Not everyone lives for networking events—in fact some of us find the idea of bars and business cards tiring. So how do you build networks when you hate networking? On episode 7 of Demythifying Brand, we talk with Tina Thomas about the concept of modern networking and building relationships your way: https://lnkd.in/d7SESw7R

Your personal brand is more than just your position and hobbies. It's how you show up, the impression you leave with people, and what others say when you aren't in the room. What story are you telling? We're looking forward to hosting another workshop in September to tackle these questions, help you discover your "why" and craft brand statements to use for your resume, website, and more. See you there: https://lnkd.in/g_-xWG8X #personalbranding #womeninbusiness #personalbrand #professionaldevelopment

Summer is a good time to reflect on the importance of resilience and how you want to show up in the future. We are all a collection of our experiences, which includes our fears and failures. What's important is how you turn these dreaded "f" words into FUEL to help you flex your courage muscle, unlearn what others have made you believe, and boldly put yourself out there for the world to see. #mugshotmonday ☕ https://lnkd.in/d9Xt4fjk

One of the big brand myths out there is that you can't have a personal brand in the workplace. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Communicating your authentic self builds better culture, and creates more opportunities for you in your workplace and beyond. People do business with people. https://lnkd.in/d23sNeFX
