Reflecting on our recent #DISummerDay Staff Appreciation, we are grateful for our amazing team at the Diversity Institute in the Ted Rogers School of Management - Toronto Metropolitan University at Toronto Metropolitan University. 🎉 Your dedication and commitment to our mission of advancing equity, diversity and inclusion (#EDI) in Canada is truly inspiring. As our founder and academic director, Dr. Wendy Cukier, who started the Diversity Institute in 1999, said when she welcomed the team, "The work that DI does changes people’s lives, organizational practices, government policies and challenges stereotypes and bias." Our teams work with Future Skills Centre - Centre des Compétences futures to lead evidence-based projects on #employment and #skills trends and their impacts, including projects related to AI, newcomers and immigration, technology and the net-zero economy, with a focus on #SMEs. They conduct research and run groundbreaking programs like #SeeItBeIt at the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH). They collaborate across the country to help elevate women, persons with disabilities, and Black, Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ+ people into leadership positions through initiatives like the #50_30Challenge. They work with the private and public sector to develop and deliver strategies and training to advance EDI in organizations. They develop training and work placement programs like ADaPT (Advanced Digital and Professional Training) for Black Youth, ADaPT for Newcomers and MyStartr. And that’s just a snapshot of the great work of our 100-strong team!
