Yesterday marked a historic milestone: the final piece of land needed to complete the connectivity of the Sifton Bog was officially transferred to the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA). This land, once owned by Allan’s father, Eugen Drewlo, Founder of Drewlo Holdings, and Don Crich, founder of Auburn Developments, represented the last piece in preserving and connecting this vital natural area. Together, both firms recognized that the best option for this land was to protect the Sifton Bog for future generations. By selling this land to UTRCA, we’re ensuring the continued conservation of an important local ecosystem and a beautiful, natural space for our community to enjoy.
Thanks to the Nature Smart Climate Solutions Fund, we recently purchased nearly 18 acres next to Sifton Bog ESA from previous landowners Auburn Developments and Drewlo Holdings. “Having this property gives us the opportunity to add a buffer between urban development to the east and the highly sensitive bog site,” said Brandon Williamson, Land Management Coordinator with the UTRCA. The public can enjoy the new addition to Sifton Bog via a managed trail that now connects two pre-existing trails on the north and south ends of the property. 🌟 Western University Students Tour Talbot Terrace🌟 This past Wednesday was an inspiring day at Talbot Terrace as we welcomed a group of eager students from Western University’s Marketing, Business, and Environmental Science programs. The students had the incredible opportunity to tour our newest building guided by Allan Drewlo, President of Drewlo Holdings, alongside Carrie, our Land Developer Planner, and Salem, the Senior Construction Project Manager overseeing the Talbot Terrace project. The tour delved deep into Talbot Terrace’s journey, from the initial land acquisition and evaluation to the intricate planning stages, city submissions, and tackling challenges along the way. Each phase was brought to life through insights shared by Allan, Carrie, and Salem, providing students with a complete picture of the determination, innovation, and teamwork that has gone into creating Talbot Terrace. Currently on the verge of its first open house tomorrow, Talbot Terrace is ready to welcome its first residents early next year! Beyond the building details, Allan, Carrie and Salem shared their professional expertise, covering everything from strategic planning and project management to business operations and environmental considerations.
