On behalf of the Duz Cho Group of Companies, we would like to thank our Nisga’a friends and partners, and the community of New Aiyansh (Gitlaxt’aamiks) for the warm welcome to attend Hoobiyee 2025. Trevor Argue, General Manager - Duz Cho Construction, joined by Ken Rea, Board Chair - Duz Cho Group of Companies, and Ralph Hausot, Director of Strategic Relationships - Duz Cho Group of Companies, attended this incredible event at the Gitlaxt’aamiks Recreation Centre, New Aiyansh, in the beautiful Nass Valley. It was an honor and a privilege to join the community and take in the dancing, drumming, singing, ceremonies, and local culture. Participants and guests were treated to local food prepared in community, and it was delicious! It was wonderful to see people coming from communities near and far, from across BC. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting, talking with, a procuring some local crafts from the many vendors. A truly humbling experience that we look forward to attending again.

We are proud to share that our team members attended and sponsored the 22nd Annual BC Natural Resources Forum in Prince George last week. This year's theme, "BC Natural Resources – Purpose, Partnerships, and Prosperity," resonated deeply with our commitment to fostering meaningful collaborations and driving sustainable growth within the natural resource sector. Engaging with industry leaders, Indigenous Communities and Leaders, and Government Representatives provided invaluable insights and strengthened our dedication to responsible resource development. We look forward to building upon the connections made and contributing to the shared prosperity of British Columbia.

To show support for our partners at Nisga'a Growth Corporation we recently attended the Nisga’a Valley Health Authority’s (NVHA) Celebrate Healing Conference which was held in the spirit of working to break down the barriers on the road to wellness. It was an honor and a privilege to be able to attend this conference, attached is a photo of one of the speakers, Vern Barker from our Prince Rupert-based partner Empire Tree Services #growingtogether #helpingcommunitiesotherhanjustourown

We are very proud to have recently wrapped up a project in our own backyard, we removed and replaced the north-east side of the Chetwynd Recreation Centre parking lot. The scope of this project was the removal of existing asphalt and granular structure, site grading and lot expansion, placement of geosynthetics, granular subbase, granular base, and approximately 7800 m2 of asphalt. We also installed approximately 550 lm of concrete curb & gutter, and 525 m2 of concrete sidewalk. Please reach out if you have any civil construction requirements, we are prepared to work on any project, both large and small. We work on projects like the Rec Centre all the way up to the mega projects like CGL, Site C & PRGT. #opentoanyopportunity #indigenousowned

We are excited that Ralph Hausot has recently joined our senior management team. Ralph is a Professional Forester with over 25 years’ experience in the Natural Resource Sector. Ralph's passion for fostering relationships lends well to his new role as Director of Strategic Relationships where he will serve as liaison between the Duz Cho Group and our partners, working closely with our cross-functional teams to strengthen current relationships and identify opportunities for new ones.
