We've been updating the case studies on our website, including this one for the new #masstimber building for The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)! 🌟 The project has broken ground and once completed, it will be Canada’s largest hybrid mass timber public facility. 👉🏼 The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital, one of the world's leading research centers in its field, and serves over 38,000 patients annually. 👉🏼 With 385,000 sq. ft. of space, this 7-storey building will house1,400 staff and will contain research and health labs, space for clinical trials, academic and lecture space, office spaces and a central atrium. 👉🏼 The curvilinear hybrid mass timber structure reduces the carbon footprint significantly compared to conventional building systems, and helps to create a sense of warmth and well-being, reducing stress and increasing creativity. Element5’s Role  🌲 As a design-assist partner from the schematic design stage, Element5 played a key role in integrating cross-laminated timber into the CLT/concrete composite floor systems. 🏗️ We collaborated with the full design team and external partners to conduct fire and acoustic testing on mockup assemblies and contributed to developing the design of the mass timber connections. 🌲 All CLT components will be manufactured and transported from our St. Thomas, Ontario facility. 👷🏽 Project Team Includes Architects: KPMB Architects, Treanor General Contractor: PCL Construction Structural Engineer: Blackwell Civil Engineer: WSP Mass Timber Supplier: Element5

Terrific video of one of our projects in progress in Michigan. We're proud to be supplying #CLT and #Glulam for 3 separate buildings on site! The project consists of a new 120,000 sq. ft., 2-storey clubhouse #masstimber hybrid building consisting of steel/columns and beams & CLT floors and roof panels, and Glulam columns and beams in featured areas. Two other buildings are single-story hybrid buildings with CLT roof decks.

As part of their environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals, Enbridge - one of North American’s largest utility companies, chose #masstimber to build their new 55,000 square foot, 2-storey office building in Ottawa. It's a gorgeous #Glulam post and beam structure with cross-laminated timber floor (#CLT) and roof panels - both supplied by Element5.

📢 Element5 is proud to be the #masstimber supplier of cross-laminated timber (#CLT) panels and #Glulam beams for the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) Career Connect Campus, and this 167,000 sq. ft. project is really coming together! 📢 👉🏼 KRESA is building a world-class career and technical education facility that would host most of the county’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. 👉🏼 This $85M career and technical educational center will serve high-school students and adult learners. It will have a capacity of 1,400 students from private, public and regional school districts 🌟 The goal is no less than to create the best career center in the nation. 🌲 KRESA chose Element5 to design, build and supply mass timber elements for this hybrid mass timber facility.
