Last September, Burak Öz, a PhD student in Information Technologies at HEC Montréal, presented his talk, "In AI We Trust (Again)", at our IVADO event on human-centered AI. In his presentation, Burak shared a series of experiments from his #PhD research on professional trust in #AI, focusing on how to rebuild trust after incidents that compromise it. Using SAP technology—a systems in which he is highly skilled—alongside HEC Montréal’s #ERPsim simulation, Burak was able in a very astute experiment to create in a laboratory experiment this lost of confident and most importantly identify mechanism by which professional can start trusting again. Listen to his very inspiring talk! This project received funding from the IVADO PRF3 research program on Human-Centered AI (#HCAI), where I served as Principal Investigator alongside Sylvain Senecal. I am co-supervising Burak's research with Constantinos Coursaris, and Burak’s work is also supported by grants from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), PROMPT, and the Chaire UX.
