Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence with the Canadian College for the Certification of Professional Ergonomists! 🎉 The CCCPE is the only certifying body in Canada recognized by the IEA - International Ergonomics Association. The CCPE designation is awarded to individuals who have met stringent educational and work experience requirements. Interested in the adoption of exoskeleton technology in construction? I recently shared my thoughts in an article for the Occupational Health & Safety Magazine. ⚡️ This is a must-read on exoskeletons in construction. It's the best article I've ever read on this topic! 👏🏽 💡 Dr. Ali Golabchi provides a brilliant, balanced, and insightful summary. This should be required introductory reading. 👉🏽 I wish every exo article online was of such high caliber. For years, I've been frustrated by the misinformation online about exoskeletons and exosuits—it's part of the reason I started posting daily and writing more trade articles on exos myself. 🤬 There have been a lot of myths spread and so much nonsense propagated. 👀 I'm amazed by the number of people who seem to have almost no experience with exos and a tenuous understanding of how they work or how they are being used. Yet, they choose to go out and write articles, create reports, or record podcasts where they just makeup information or lazily speculate about things they know nothing about (I saw a few examples of it this month alone!). Or occasionally it's just people spreading misinformation for their own attempted gain. So be careful what you read and who you trust! 📈 Luckily, exoskeleton information online is gradually getting better—and it's because of articles like this and crucial efforts from others putting out well-informed and educational content. 🛠 Dr. Golabchi has a deep understanding of the tech, opportunities, and challenges for construction. And he lays out the facts and his perspective in a clear and easy-to-understand way. 🎯 TL/DR: If you're curious about exoskeletons in the construction field, then I strongly recommend you grab a cup of ☕️ and take 10 minutes to read this article. #exoskeletons #exosuits #safetytech #constructiontech

🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of CCCPE Designations and Global Ergonomics Month! 🎉 We’re thrilled to see one of our Ergonomists reflecting on their journey and celebrating the power of ergonomics in creating healthier, safer workplaces. From clinical work to injury prevention, their story highlights the immense impact ergonomics has on reducing recurring injuries and enhancing overall well-being. 🌟 At EWI Works, we are proud to foster a culture of learning, mentorship, and growth. Seeing our team members grow their expertise with guidance from mentors like our CEO Linda L. Miller and others in the ergonomics field, drives our commitment to providing innovative solutions for workplace safety and performance optimization. Watch the video below to hear more about their journey and the importance of ergonomics in our everyday lives! #ProudToBeCCPEAE #Ergonomics #HumanFactors #GlobalErgonomicsMonth #InjuryPrevention #WorkplaceWellness
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of CCCPE designations as well as the beginning of Global Ergonomics Month, I am proud to be an Associate Ergonomist! The International Ergonomics Association defines ergonomics as "the scientific discipline that focuses on understanding interactions between humans and other elements of a system." Ergonomics aims to optimize the well-being, performance, and safety of individuals within their work environment while considering the physical, cognitive, social, and organizational aspects of human activity, and taking into account human capabilities and limitations. Since completing my educational requirements in 2021, with thanks to Mike Holmes & Steven Fischer, I have had the great opportunity to work in various industries through starting my career with Lifemark Health Group wherein Joseph Whitten had provided me with ergonomic work in the Hamilton/Niagara region, to currently consulting with EWI Works Inc., receiving mentorship from various CCPEs (Annie Barnwell, CCPE, Donald MacDonald, Linda L. Miller, Oluwatobi Durowoju BPT, MSc Erg., CCPE & Shane Hudson, I appreciate all of your patience this early into my career.) As a former clinician, it was always disheartening to see patients return with recurring injuries that could have been prevented with proper ergonomic practices. This experience fuels my pride in joining the field of injury prevention, where our interventions can positively impact many more workers than in a clinical setting. Most people spend the majority of their waking hours at work. Therefore, improving the quality of one’s workplace can directly enhance the quality of one’s life. #ProudToBeCCPEAE #Ergonomics #HumanFactors #GlobalErgonomicsMonth #InjuryPrevention #InternationalErgonomicsAssociation ACE Association of Canadian Ergonomists

You can hear Donald MacDonald speak on force as a risk factor tomorrow.
Are you aware of the impact of force on your MSI claim rates? Sometimes it is obvious - when workers are trying to move more than they can safely move on their own - but force is often an overlooked problem. Join AMHSA and the ergonomic experts at EWI Works Inc. for a no-cost webinar on June 20 (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm). We'll review the prevalence of force as a risk factor to MSI claims, with particularly relevant examples to municipal members.
