It's September and Excellence Canada's Performance Excellence Summit, Canada Awards for Excellence, and the Canadian Business Excellence Awards are right around the corner. Tables are going quickly, and as usual, this event, our 40th Annual and our Ruby Jubilee, will sell out. Make a plan today to join us so you don't miss out on a terrific agenda and an amazing recognition event, October 28th at the Delta Hotel in Downtown Toronto. I've just recently joined the organization, and I'm biased, but I'm really excited about the panel I'm moderating, Showcase of Excellence featuring leaders from some of Canada's most well known and respected organizations including Jim Chung from Air Canada, Jennifer Lombardo from Wajax, Katrena Munsch from Sun Life, Erika Taylor from BC Pension Corporation, and Suzanne Blanchard from Carleton University. Tony Chapman opens the day with an engaging keynote leading into a panel discussion with business leaders including Dany Assaf, Arlene Dickinson, and Jon Love C.M. After our award winners are celebrated, our day ends with an inspiring closing keynote featuring Joe Roberts 🛒 Skidrow to CEO We're even planning to posthumously honour the Rt. Honourable Brian Mulroney, under whose government our predecessor organization, the National Quality Institute (NQI) was founded. It's going to be a great day for learning, networking, and celebrating. I'm looking forward to seeing you at excellencesummit.ca. Book your seat or your table today.

Wow! What a performance in Paris. Our best outcome yet in a non-boycotted summer games. Congratulations to Canada's Olympic athletes on an excellent result. We tend to focus on the medal count, which is amazing, but it's not the whole story. About 50 Canadians are coming home with hardware, but our athletes achieved so much more. With over 300 athletes plus coaches, judges, and others representing our country, we have a lot to be proud of. Top 10 finishes, personal bests, national records, Olympic records and world records. Some heartbreak to be certain, but overwhelming pride for sure. The Olympics reminds us that excellence is a journey. A progression. A goal. Sometimes we move toward our goal quickly, and sometimes we're held up by life and its unexpected detours. In every case, it takes commitment to the outcome, benchmarking against the competition, and measuring progress against our own previous performance. Athletes, no matter where they are in their own journeys, epitomize this progressive approach to excellence. But we are all on a journey, whether personally, professionally, or with our organizations. It's easy to focus on the medals. But we need to remember that the commitment to the journey, and everything that encompasses, is what fuels amazing outcomes. And nobody does it alone. While our Olympic athletes head home to be welcomed by a proud nation, our Canadian Paralympians are getting ready to go, and will undoubtedly extend our feeling of national pride as they also deliver a series of personal bests, records and yes, medals. From the whole team at Excellence Canada, thank you to Team Canada, and congratulations as you progress on your own excellence journeys. We couldn't be prouder.
