Most city streets were designed with trees planted right over watermains—and now, those mature trees are irreplaceable. Traditional #construction methods would require cutting them down just to access aging pipes. Not on FER-PAL’s sites. With Cured In Place Pipe (#CIPP), we structurally rehabilitate #watermains without excavation, meaning we save more than 500 mature trees every year. That’s less disruption, healthier communities, and stronger infrastructure—all at once. https://lnkd.in/e_jZ7bst

FER-PAL Infrastructure is the North American leader in watermain rehabilitation through the use of trenchless technology
About us
FER-PAL Construction Ltd. was established in 1986 in Toronto, ON to provide municipalities throughout Canada and the United States with watermain rehabilitation services using trenchless technology. By utilizing a Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) which is inserted into existing watermains, FER-PAL fixes deteriorating pipes by essentially creating a new pipe within a pipe. Limited digging is involved in this trenchless process and the result is a watermain repair that is cost-effective, traffic conducive, environmentally sound, and has limited infrastructure impacts to surrounding communities and businesses. FER-PAL began expansion into the US market in 2007, opening an office in Taylor, MI. In 2013 the trenchless technology firm opened a Head Quarters in Elgin, IL to support it's further growth in the trenchless market place. Officially opening on Oct. 15, 2013, the Elgin grand opening was celebrated by Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, Mayor A. George Pradel of Naperville and Mayor Dave Kaptain of Elgin. With this expansion, FER-PAL can better service it's clients across the Midwest in states such as Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. FER-PAL is a three time winner of the Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance Excavator of the Year Award (Water/Sewer), most recently winning in 2011. FER-PAL has also won awards internationally as they recently won the 2010 and 2011 APWA Metro Detroit Branch's Project of the Year as well as the 2011 City Engineers of Minnesota's Project of the Year Award. FER-PAL is NSF Internationally Certified as well as a member of the APWA (American Public Works Association), NASTT (North American Society for Trenchless Technology) and CATT (Centre for Advancement of Trenchless Technologies).

When a watermain break threatens daily operations in a busy manufacturing district, speed and efficiency matter. That’s why the City of Lima, OH, turned to FER-PAL for a Cured In Place Pipe (#CIPP) solution on North Sugar Street—home to a Ford plant and a major commercial bakery. Our goal? Rehabilitate 9,400 feet of aging cast-iron pipe without shutting down the roadway. By using CIPP, we completed the project one week ahead of schedule and saved the City $164,000 compared to other lining methods. The result was a stronger, more resilient watermain with minimal impact on local businesses. Trenchless watermain rehabilitation isn’t new. But doing it right? That’s what FER-PAL has perfected over the past 25+ years. With zero failures across 2,500 KM of installations, we deliver solutions that last over a century—without costly, disruptive excavations. Why settle for less? Infrastructure renewal doesn’t have to mean disruption. When the City Of Saline needed to improve water quality for its largest customer, traditional replacement wasn’t an option—not with a busy commercial district and Michigan Department of Transportation road work on the horizon. From March 2022 to June 2022, 2,988 feet of 12-in. cast-iron pipe was lined with CIPP, a trenchless watermain rehabilitation liner composed of two polyester jackets and an epoxy resin. The result: 🔹 Minimized impact on local businesses and traffic 🔹 Completed the project on time 🔹 Enhanced water quality while reducing filtration costs for American Soy, the City's largest customer A reliable solution, a stronger water system, and no unnecessary disruption—that’s what FER-PAL is all about. Not all liners are created equal. At FER-PAL, we routinely live (hot) tap pipes we have lined over 3,000 times per year without a single leak—because our liner is that tight-fitting. Unlike competitors who require additional fittings at termination points, our system is engineered to provide a perfect, leak-free seal every time. Replacing pipes doesn’t have to mean tearing up roads. When the City of Dixon needed a solution for frequent watermain breaks along Galena Ave., they initially considered open-cut replacement. Instead, they chose CIPP for its speed, efficiency, and lower cost. By using a phased approach, we: ✔️ Maintained water service throughout the project ✔️ Ensured businesses like a local car wash weren’t impacted ✔️ Completed 3,066 feet of watermain renewal in just a few months Less disruption. Better results. That’s the FER-PAL way. Contact us to start your next project: https://lnkd.in/gC72nPef #CIPP #PipeLining #TrenchlessTechnology #WatermainRehabilitation #WaterInfrastructure

In North Bay, we lined 901 metres of #watermain in just 13 weeks—saving an extra 30 weeks compared to open-cut replacement. Our #trenchless approach meant fewer excavations, no road or sidewalk closures, and 100 fewer truckloads of soil disturbed. The impact? 64 tonnes of CO₂ saved and five mature trees preserved. Faster, greener, and less disruptive—this is the future of water infrastructure. Digging up roads for watermain replacement isn’t just disruptive—it’s costly, time-consuming, and messy. Instead of excavating entire streets, our trenchless #CIPP technology restores watermains with minimal digging, reducing the need to move massive amounts of dirt and getting the job done faster. FER-PAL makes watermain rehabilitation cleaner, quicker, and more efficient. https://lnkd.in/etzehet6 #WatermainRehabilitation #Watermains #WaterInfrastructure

At FER-PAL, we don’t just claim excellence—we prove it. Our CIPP liner has undergone rigorous third-party testing by leading institutions: ✅ University of Colorado Boulder ✅ Cornell University ✅ Louisiana Tech University ✅ Monash University The verdict? Unmatched durability, superior performance, and zero failures. Learn more about our #CIPP solutions: https://lnkd.in/gA664qfh #WaterInfrastructure #TrenchlessTechnology

When aging water infrastructure fails in a major downtown area, traditional repairs can mean weeks of road closures, detours, and business disruptions. In Washington, DC’s 3rd Street Tunnel, FER-PAL’s #CIPP lining provided a better way. Using trenchless technology, we restored 1,148 feet of cast iron watermain in a restricted space—sealing leaks, keeping fire hydrants operational, and completing the job on schedule. No major excavation, no unnecessary delays, just a smarter solution.
