Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a Calgary, Alberta based engineering services provider. Our privately held engineering company has been servicing Western Canada since 1987. GLE is comprised of 225 engineers, designers, consultants, and administrators serving both the Canadian and International EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) markets.
In addition to general oil and gas project engineering services and project management services, GLE has recognized niche strengths in refrigeration, gas processing (including CO2), power generation, liquids fractionation, amine sweetening and acid gas injection. We provide highly flexible engineering services that are truly customized to meet the specific needs of each client.
GLE’s founders include Doug MacKenzie, Jim Maddocks, and Arnie Toews. At that time, the three of them already averaged more than a decade of experience in oil and gas and industrial construction, equipment design, drafting, shop fabrication and field construction. They had already built facilities and published technical papers on MDEA sweetening and the use of mixed refrigerants in gas plant liquids production. Their experience included some of the very first designs and uses of modularized process packages to reduce site-built construction costs, including packaged refrigeration and amine plants. Many of these facilities are still in use today, nearly 40 years later, with the designs often referenced as standard industry designs. On this foundation of corporate knowledge, GLE has steadily grown and provided engineering services on hundreds of gas and liquids processing facilities ranging from the very small, up to 1 BCFD and 74,000 bbl/day. We are very proud of our heritage in the industry as Canada’s most experienced privately-owned gas and liquids facilities engineering services provider.
