  • If Dr. Ambreén Zaman-Riaz was running GBLOC for a day, she’d create a safe space where people would feel comfortable being themselves and opening up. This would result in better communities and dialogues where folks would be open to sharing information. Dr. Ambreen’s one big idea is to create a precision medicine to block mutations of cancerous genes so people no longer have to suffer. The contribution she makes to the world is providing the best services and healthcare facilities at the optimum price to people so they have access to it, and they won't go bankrupt if they have a chronic disease. Brought up to believe that all humans are inherently good, she looks for positivity in every situation, and cultivates connections by having authentic communications that help build trust in environments where people can have safety so they can express themselves. We invite you to watch Dr. Ambreen’s Go Deeper podcast interview below.

  • Dr. Ambreén Zaman-Riaz is a physician whose biggest accomplishment in life is building and creating healthcare companies. During the day, she works on building her startup. EDWARD BOURELLY's purpose is to elevate his community. Growing up in the South Side of Chicago, he has fond memories of a community founded on support from teachers, doctors, and small merchants. To him, this dynamic seems to be gone today. When getting to know people, he’s interested in where and how they grew up. His father is an immigrant from Haiti, and Ed has always been captivated by different cultures and where people come from. Ed’s one big idea is to break the barriers around DEI. We need more understanding in our professional world. To foster this understanding, Ed believes we need to be grounded in humility and empathy. Click below to watch a snippet of Ed’s Go Deeper podcast interview, and continue watching on our YouTube page (linked in the comments) to learn about Ed’s favourite story of creating impact, and what a better world looks like to him.

“We are so much more than our titles.” Our featured GBLOC member this week, Varsha Morar, encourages leaders at all levels of business to embrace their full humanity—all the qualities that make them holistically human—so they can step into their real, authentic selves to trailblaze a movement. For Varsha, the idea of the holistic human is centred around the principle that change begins at the human level before it can transcend with stakeholders at other levels—those stakeholders being our family, our communities, the organizations we’re part of, and the health of our planet. In her own personal transformation journey, Varsha sought the holistic human within herself and pushed herself out of her own comfort zone. That’s what brought Varsha towards shaping her purpose and mission. We invite you to watch Varsha's Go Deeper podcast interview below to learn more about her purpose, mission, and one big idea. The full video is on our Youtube channel here: https://lnkd.in/gdVzRmQW

  • Growing up, Kevin J Brazant, (SFHEA) found his education to be dry. The learning he experienced wasn’t suited to his interests or needs. Today, Kevin’s BIG WHY is transforming education. He flips the scripts in the ways we learn, and encourages students to have agency in their learning experience. One time, a student he worked with wasn’t happy with her grades and writing modules. When he introduced her to peer learning communities and helped her discover her motivators for learning and new ways of looking at learning, she was able to translate her passion for social justice and equity into her writing. As a disruptor himself, Kevin also enjoys connecting with those who disrupt for the betterment of people. Learn more about Kevin in his Go Deeper podcast interview below.
