Working to end gender-based violence in Niagara.
About us
As one of the first shelters of its kind in Ontario, Gillian’s place brings over 40 years of experience and expertise in violence against women service in Niagara. Since 1977, Gillian’s Place has grown from an 8-bed emergency shelter to a multi-site provider of free and confidential services that support women and children who have experienced abuse. These services encompass a 34-bed emergency shelter, a 24/7 phone or text support line, second stage housing, expert counselling, safety planning, child and youth programs, legal advice and information, education and violence prevention programs, and a transitional housing and support program.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Angela Marotta and Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli for stopping by to share the proceeds from this year's Two Sisters Vineyards Margo Rose sales. TSV donated $6,000 to support our daily work to end GBV in Niagara. Over the past six years, the team at Two Sisters Vineyards has raised over $48,000 for Gillian's Place, ensuring that we can continue to change and save lives of our community's most vulnerable. Together, we are working to end gender-based violence in Niagara.

Jessica reached out to Gillian’s Place after her partner's escalating violence made home life unbearable. With three young children to protect, she knew she had to find a safe place for them. At Gillian’s Place, Jessica was was welcomed with open arms and eventually able to rebuild her life. Her children, once scared and uncertain, are now thriving in Second-Stage Transitional Unit. Today, Jessica is focused on healing and creating a brighter future for her family, with the confidence that they are finally safe and supported. #gilliansplace #chanceforchange #endgbv
